Wife is ready to move on but I

My wife broke the news to me a few days ago that she wants a separation. She said that she just really needs time to focus on herself m, so that she can love herself to truly become happy. Married life and parenthood has taken its toll on her. She's ready to go out, be social and have fun. This situation is killing me. I'm not ready to move on. She pretty well has. She is finding friends and talking to new people while I'm sitting at home, depressed on the couch. We still live together. We still hang out and do things. We have a ton of fun doing them. We still sleep together. I know that I need time away from her to start healing, but I'm not ready. When she's with me, I don't feel any pain. When we're apart, I feel worthless and hopeless. I've been so focused on family and my career that I've never really made any friends that I can talk to about this. Really just looking for a friend right now.

I'm just not ready for a separation, despite her openly texting other people with me around. If I try to talk to another woman, I feel like I'm being disrespectful to my wife. I've really been banking on working things out but it seems like she just really needs this and there's no changing her mind. I've never been an emotional person, but I have been a train wreck through this process. I just had a break down a few minutes. I just, don't know what to do.

@Hurtandconfused86 you do not have to rewrite your feelings, you are perfectly fine feeling the way that you do when you talk to other women. I respect that. There is no easy way out of this. It will be an uphill battle inside yourself for a while. All that I can give you for advice is to follow your heart and not give up on your life and dreams, but do not smother her. That will be bad for your outcome of what you hope for. Keep your head on right and keep looking forward. Seperation maybe what you both need for compromise to happen, to see what you both lost, and to see how to evolve your lives.

@PerfectStorm426 That's what I am hoping. She is looking for a straight divorce but told me today she may be interested in looking into legal separation instead. She has been straight that she doesn't want to get my hopes up, because she's fairly confident she doesn't want any relationship at all, but does realize that she's likely making the biggest mistake of her life. She doesn't think her mind will change, but admits there is a small chance it could. She's just afraid of giving me false hope.
