How do you know if the friendship I have is toixc?? The guy I am friends with we tried to date but realized we are not compatible, he has bpd and i am just fidning it really hard to be friends with him because he can be rude at times like today he told me that my new relationship isn;t even a relationship when it is we are offical so i just don't know what to do at this point i go to a small college so its hard to avoid him compleately thank you for your time

@coolkat1994, hello! It's completely up to you. If you think he is a really good friend, don't let his illness define him. You can always be there for him. But if it difficult for you to maintain the friendship, you can talk to him about it. You are your first priority. I hope this help. Take care.heart

@colourfulSpring22 yeah he seems to like to put me down and idk if he realizes it i have a new bf now so he doesn't bother me as much anymore now that i am taken

@coolkat1994 I know you probably want to be there for him but if his actions/words are hurting you and you have told him about it and he hasn't at all changed his behavior, then maybe you two aren't compatible as friends either. You are totally allowed to put your happiness first and decide if having him in your life is a good thing or perhaps a not so good thing. The decision is yours. Hope that helps. xo
