peer yelled at me once at day-program

TW: Smoking is mentioned 

I just remember this story from my day-program I referenced it on another story.  

Background:

Back when my program was in person (at the moment on the four days its still runs  its online at the moment), we would have lunches prepared by the peer volunteers (ie "Briar" or "Raven",etc) and sometimes one of participants.    Let's call the one other participant beside myself in Story part 2  "Penny" 

Depending on the time of year,  we would have different things -like in winter we might have mini pizzas, or soup, or chili.   Well in the summer we would have taco salad (only thing I can think of we had in the summer).  I know that one July, I had my very first taste of Poutine.  Post 2017 the oven in the kitchen was no longer working properly and hadn't been fixed by Covid lockdown despite the peer volunteer leaders bugging the supervisor of the building (it was run in an apartment building/complex).  So we had to be creative in making food in a sense. 

 In the early years 2013-16  for most of  the food with the exception of soup, we could help ourselves too when it was lunch time.   What I mean by this is the tables were set up with the food we're having for lunch that day would be on the table at the front of the room and we would come in and help ourselves to the food, and take it to wherever we could find a spot to eat in this room at a table.   

In I think 2016, maybe 2017- not really clear which-that people kind  taking more then their faire share of the food without thinking about others like the smokers who in order to have a smoke now had to down to the ground floor and smoke outside instead of being able to smoke on the two rooms' balconies so that sometimes food would be gone by the time they came back or other folks came late to lunch. 

Story Part 1: 

 I don't remember what we had this particular day (or l think we're suppose to have one thing,  but it had to be supplement with soup I believe due to oven problems)  but after I had eaten and went back to the computer I preferred to doing whatever the activity was in the Moring/afternoon-  that I heard one of the leaders have to scold the other peers for "Taking more then their fair share" of the other thing that wasn't the soup.   I might just want to mentioned- here that pre-2016 I was partly guilty of this myself but I stopped after I think one talking too. 

Story Part 2

I think due to too many people taking more then their fair share of the food, that instead of being able to help ourselves, that we how had to be served by the peer volunteers now.  So we had to file into the room- and find a table to sit at and wait for us to be called up and served/given the food.   

One day we're going into the room and sitting in the room and one of the other participants, Penny was going to help herself to the food and I who was sitting or starting to sit- said "We have to wait for the go-ahead from the leaders" and Penny completely  yelled at me -i don't remember what she yelled, but she yelled.  I think  something about me being too "rule oriented" or something and she was "sick of it"  (because I had also before this been telling people to wait  at other lunches until the leaders said we could have seconds). 

Note: It was Penny who recently helped me out last summer when I was afraid of using the backdoor when she told the driver to open the front door for me
