I’ve been talking to him for about 5 months. My biggest problem is my mental health has gone down hill recently and I’ve been trying to find help but everyday is a struggle. I did flip out on him, I didn’t really mean to I just had a lot going on in the moment. I know I should apologize but I am horrible at opening up. That’s a main reason my mental health has gotten so bad. How should I apologize?

Hello! I understand your struggle and it can be very hard when you are not doing well mentally to not let it affect the way you talk with others and your relationship with other people. I think the fact that you recognized you may have upset him is a good thing because you are hoping to make a change.

I guess the first question would be to ask if knows about your mental health status right now. I think if not, this would be a great segway to enter that conversation. You could perhaps start by disclosing to him that you aren't doing so great mentally and to explain that this is why you acted the way you did. This way, you can give them a reason behind your actions and also apologize to them. If you feel he can be of support to you, this might be the time to see if he can be there for you to help you feel better!
