Should I cut off my friend?

So Ive been friends with this girl for almost 6 years now, and lately Ive just been getting a bad vibe from her. When we talk we only talk about her and her problems. Every time I try to change the subject she basically just ignores it and changes it back to her.

She recently lost her virginity (which is all she talks about now), and I feel like she kind of bashes me for still being a virgin. She doesnt say anything directly but I can sense it in her tone,

kind of get the sense that she looks down on me and thinks shes better than me just because she has all these boys and is having sex.

She thinks that I live this boring life and that shes my best friends. She is not my best friend at all, barely a close friend. She doesnt know anything about me.

And I dont tell her stuff about me and my life because

1. She can only talk about herself and

2. Why would want to involve her in my life when she talks to my like she does.

We live in different countries, I moved a year ago, so she has no idea

She literally has no purpose in my life. Its just bad energy in my life.

But the problem is Im so bad at confrontation, I dont want to say anything but I feel like its weird to just cut her off like that.

If anyone reads this, please come with some advice on what I should do

Hey there,

I honestly can completely understand where you are coming from. Just a few months ago, I recently broke ties with a "best friend" of mine that I've known for about 7 years. I definitely see the frustration, pain, and confusion that you must feel.

Firstly, you need to do what is best for you. Obviously this person isn't a good friend. She's always making everything about her and never putting your feelings into consideration. That's not a true friend at all. She's basically acting like she is better than you, and that's not right or fair to you.

Maybe because you guys are young, she is just being really immature and selfish. I feel that most, if not all, of us are guilty of acting that way at some point in our adolescence, but that is still no excuse to be treating you so poorly.

I would say try confronting her about it, but I totally relate to wanting to avoid confrontation, especially with someone you care about. With my friend, I knew that if I spoke up about how I felt, she would just deny anything she may have done wrong, and just tell me that it's all in my head, or just find some way to blame me for wanting to remove her from my life because she was toxic. So, in order to avoid a pointless argument, I really just stopped talking to her. We haven't been talking much lately anyway, so the very few times she would reach out to me, I just wouldn't respond or I would just give one words answers. I may have also posted lots of subliminal messages on my social media, where I knew she would see it, just talking about how it's okay to remove toxic people from your life to better yourself, and that friends can turn on you, and just stuff like that. Eventually, I just deleted her on social media to help myself move on, and honestly, I've felt so much better by doing so.

So, back to your situation. I get that confrontation can be scary, and just cutting your friend off can seem weird, but you said you guys are in different countries, so I feel like it doesn't really matter what she thinks. I think you should just cut her off if you don't want to give an explanation, because you don't owe her one. You deserve to do what is going to make you happy, and not worry about what other people are going to think. It's going to be hard, but I promise you will feel so much better after doing something. You can try talking to her, or you can just remove her, just do whatever you think is going to be best and make you feel good about yourself. It honestly is up to you, but I really don't think you shouldn't have this person in your life anymore. You deserve so much better, and you need to believe that.

Wishing you the best, take care :)
