when did they stop liking me?
the last year or so has been a roller coaster. i started 2021 with a friend group of 7 close friends. then i lost 2, and some of my trust in another. then i lost another when she switched schools, and it was just me and 4 others, but one of which i grew apart from. we sat with 2 other girls at lunch and i considered them close friends. then my friend got a boyfriend, so our group of 4 grew to 8-12. they broke up, now it’s just 3 of us, plus some bits and pieces of other friendships, almost enough to be one whole close friendship (do you know what i mean?)(ps. i have other friends but not necessarily other people i’m very close with.)
somewhere in this roller coaster i noticed a common theme: people stopped liking me. idk when idk how but it’s true. the girls i lost at the beginning, one said i give her a headache, am boring, and am a pick me. of the big friend group, those i lost said i’m slutty, pick me, too energetic, too boring, and a lot more. but they all at times seemed to genuinely like me? and one of my friends friends said that he wishes i would go six feet under, and he would help bury me.
im just confused. idk when people stopped liking me, or what i did. the guy i just mentioned met me once, we didn’t even really talk to each other, and he already hates me and i just don’t know why.
man’s in even more scared because of my two friends, both want to switch schools. idk if they actually will but what if they did? what am i supposed to do? people obviously don’t like me so how am i supposed to make friends? honesty if they switched schools i would probably homeschool.
help. idk how to figure out how to get people to like me, or at least not be annoyed by me.
I have a similar experience, I started out with a group of friends that I hung out with during our breaks, even had birthday parties together. Then, they either suddenly stopped treating me the same as others, or they'd start leaving me out in their games (or leave the worst choice for me). I never understood why they did that nor did they tell me why they started ignoring me. Then, when I switched schools, I lost the entire group of friends (did not have mobile phones back then, nor used emails yet). For the remaining of my school years, I failed to make any lasting good friends and pretty much became a loner.
I think in school, there will always be people who don't like us, and it's difficult to find friends who are trustworthy and is true to us. It might not be that they stopped liking you, it could be that they have changed too. People go through different phases in school, people they meet in school and around them, can influence how they see each other. Maybe they have some "criteria" for being a good friend to you that has changed, and it's not really because of you that they stopped liking, it's just they somehow feel that you no longer matched their "criteria". Don't take their comments personally, believe me, it's not your problem. Many people go through many different groups of friends during their times in school, so don't feel bad that you lost some friends here and there~
