Hello everyone !

I’ve grown up in a predominantly Christian household and maintain that as my faith into adulthood. However, due to personal events that have happened in my life, I wanted to follow the teachings of Buddhism alongside. it’s confusing because I’m not sure how to go about it or if it’s even allowed at all.

@considerateDay4069 this is something I can appreciate as someone that was in the Christian faith during my upbringing and also found other spiritual paths that seemed to offer me other perspectives. @PineTreeTree has quoted the Dalai Lama and underlined a central theme in the Dalai Lama's message.

He also says his religion in kindness, His practice is to develop the eyes to see all beings as just like me wanting happiness and to be free of suffering. You can use the tools of Buddhism to discover more happiness and peace as long as you do not confront those with strong Christian beliefs. When I have done this, a debate or argument ensued. So now I just practice what helps me live a more ethical life and a more peaceful life.  I keep it to myself. I am not trying to cnvert anyone.

The Buddha says in his teachings and the Dalai Lama repeats it that we do not need to believe anyting the Buddha says on faith but to explore it in our own lives and see if it works for us. If so use it, if not let it go. If you want to know aobut things you can do to practice, tools that Buddhism offers that do not prevent you from practicing a Christian faith, then reply to this post or send me a message
