Near death experience

When I was 17 I was taking a lotta drugs and I got laced sometimes and ended up overdosing one of the times and almost died. I’ve never actually been religious but I remember trying to hold onto life but it was hard. I don’t know who or what it was but something was talking to me asking me if I regret what I had done and I was so sorry for my choice to do drugs. It told me everything was going to be okay and to just let go. I couldn’t hold on anymore so I let go and everything became okay and I felt so loved. Was that god or an angel or something else? I don’t know if I’ll ever know as long as I live but whatever it was I’m truly grateful for a 2nd chance and the opportunities I now realize I have. I used to be very pessimistic but after that I understand that life is what you make it. It’s an experience I’ll never forget.

@sympatheticFig8433 I am glad you are still with us. Your experience of regret is very common in the reports I have read about whoi survived attempts to end their life. Regret is also the first step in healing as well.

All religions explain the after life in different ways and the beings that help us also.  I think it is less important to hear how people label your experience and more important to accept it as your experience and search within to see how you can make this place better in some regard with this precious human life.
