Where do your personal spiritual beliefs come from?

@GreenLime3141

Mine came from the Christian church, as I spent my childhood being brought up through the nornal church methods, it was only as an adult I saw the damage and hurt that the church was doing to people.

Then last year, having been a chaplain for a while without any demonination  I found the Unitarian Chuch, which is like the 7cups of churchs, it allows for everyone and people to come to gather in spiritual worship without harm. That meant the world for me and has lead to to have a different relationship with faith and worship

@GreenLime3141I was born to parents who were members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and they were intentional about living their religion all day every day, and I very young learned to recognize what they taught was true. Even as I grew up and watched how they, as imperfect people, didn't always live what they had taught me and I could see that that's what caused their relationship and other problems, I knew they had taught the right things and I could see that if they actually lived what they had taught me all the time, their problems would get better. Nowadays more of my family members also have trouble with living what the church teaches, and I'm certainly not saying I'm a perfect person, but I continue to see that if my family understood the gospel the way the church teaches it and lived it all that way, life would be good and I know my life has gone as well as it has, even though it's been hard to live with my family, because of how well I've lived the gospel.

My story is quite the heroes journey.

I grew up with Christian parents like you. Started off worshipping as a Pentecostal on Sundays. Transitioned to studying the Bible as a 7th Day Adventist on Saturdays.
I went through a phase of disillusionment mainly because of my struggles with romantic relationships.
I spent time learning about new age teachings for a while.
Then became profoundly interested in eastern philosophy such as what Alan Watts lectured about.
I felt that I wanted more structure so I explored the Hare Krishna movement and Taoist cultivation. I enjoyed the acceptance and open-mindedness shared in that community.
Further along I made relationships with Islamic people, and learned about the simplistic and spiritually guarded life that they promote.
I've come to believe that this world we currently live in is not meant for us to understand logically. It is meant for us to learn how to love the world and each other.
