What does it mean to be spiritual vs being religious in your understanding. 🙂

Please do not judge people who may have a different understanding than yourself.

@Mindfulseeker

What is your definition?

Mine would be spiritual is a one-on-one connection with faith/ connection to a higher being etc.

Many I have known as " religious" feel they are following a set out definition and be part of a group connection to say they go to services and such to show other or convince themselves of a faith / connection.

I heard someone say once they were not doubtful of a higher presence but doubted they took church attendance.

@toughTiger6481 Thank you for asking. In my humble understanding, spiritual practice is inward in our own being.

Religious is outward to seek followers and be heard.

Hope this help 🙂

@Mindfulseeker

Religious for me means a structured faith, set rules , attending the sacraments whereas spiritual is more personal and can be done anywhere 💚
