An odd thing I noticed
I don't know if anyone else has noticed this, but I have and I find it suspicious. Almost every listener's profile says that they like hiking, camping, and reading; usually in that order. Once in awhile some words will be changed here or there, or there'll be a slight rephrasing, but are all the intros just copy and pasted or what? Surely they're not all into those three things in that order. It's a little weird.
Pretty much. When you set up your listener account, there is a sample text that serves to give you an idea what to put into your profile info. However, it's up to every listener to change it, and some never do. It's been discussed before andI don't really think there's anything the site can do about this. If a listener doesn't bother to even change the text they have there, I doubt they'd write one from scratch.
This made me think about my own profile message. It never occurred to me that members and guests might take our own profile representation incredibly seriously. I suppose it's more important than what a lot of members anticipated, including myself. Thanks for the food for thought :)
