How do you know what you're talking about won't be shared or gossiped about?

Not to be paranoid but this is the number one question I have when it comes to using this site. It seems like such a great place for someone to start gossip or something of that sorts when someone has nothing to talk about :(

I've been around for a while and while confidentiality sometimes does get broken, I have never seen or even heard of it being to a 1-1 being gossiped about.

What I have seen is a listener (typically new) ask about what they should have done in a situation, and that is typically taken down quickly.

If it's something you're really concerned about, I would recommend finding a listener who has been around for a while with a good rating - they are more likely to be reporting such an issue than personally engaging in it. It doesn't hurt to check in at the beginning of a conversation - while I hope an experienced listener doesn't need that reminder sometimes a reminder is helpful and a good listener won't be offended by the request so it's a bit of a test in that regard too.
