How has 7 Cups helped you?

I used this for the first time about 20 minutes ago and I managed to have someone calm me down enough to stop me from doing something I would regret. This person knew bits of my story but didn't know what I was planning on doing. This potentially saved me from myself. For that I am truly thankful

I believe that 7 cups has really helped me to be able to gain experience with trying to help people and also try to put myself in their shoes. It can be really stressful and hard, but being able to reconnect with the community that is provided is amazing. It's also helped me to learn what was acceptable in what to say and what not to say and think about how I'm writing it.

Being a listener has helped me so much - even though it's only been about 3 days.

I suffer from depression, and it really gets to me when I don't have anything to do, and I often have worries that I'm worthless.

Being able to help others on 7 Cups helps me so much now thatI have something important to do :) . It has boosted my self-esteem and I feel useful for once!

I also want to explore a career in psychology, so a background in peer-support is very helpful. :)

I'd really like to speak to @judym21 but it's telling me something about spam:( I wish she'd be able to talk to me..

7 cups gave me the opportunity to see that I am not alone in ths world dealing with the "devil" depression anger and etc.

I was welcomed and I hope I can pay it back with helping others, it gives me strength and hope.

Being a listener, I can honestly say I've felt like I have more self worth now that people somewhat depend on me. I've helped a lot of people which in turn helps me :)

7cups helped me to realize that I can help people as they helped me here. I feel that a little suggestion from my listener made me join this endeavourand meet new people. People from different countries, age groups and walks of life come to interact here and some of them have become friends too. It is a great place to be.

7 cups has made me realise that you don't need to take huge steps to change the world. Listening to someone and calming them down is enough to change that person's world and is a step to making this community and the world a better place.

I first discovered 7CupsOfTea as I was going through a really rough phase in my life. Just a few days after I left my hometown, my grandfather passed away. A few weeks after that, my love of 4 years suddenly up and broke things off with me. I felt so alone. No friends, family far away, and my only love, best friend, and anchor in life just left me.

I seek help with a listener here and found it to actually work if I have someone to talk to. I've never been able to express myself or dare to. I'm much more of an introvert in real life. I registered for a member account and a few weeks later, a listener account. I actually find that it helps me to help others. I've never stopped since.

7 cups is my safe place, where its ok for me to share my inner most feelings and its a place where my wonkey thoughts get corrected and my downward spiral gets stopped in its tracks. I know im not fully healed yet but since coming to 7 cups i have grown stronger and been heard, comforted, and gently hugged. 7 cups is a blessing in my life and i am so grateful for all the listeners that have shared my laughter and my tears, it has gotten me through some pretty rotten days and given me a brighter future..
