Member expressing suicidal thoughts

Could you please check up on a member in the trauma support community? There is a post with suicidal thoughts in the trauma forum / diary ("I give up" thread). I wanted to make a referral but it doesn't seem to be possible as a member? Thank you!

@admaiorasemper It is not possible for anyone to refer a member for therapy. They have to do it themselves.

In this case the member mentions PTSD and some intense emotions. I would hope that none of our 7 Cups therapists would take the risk of trying to treat severe PTSD using online messages.

Unfortunately, 7 Cups' response to suicidal thoughts is usually to stigmatize them by rejecting the person and telling them to go elsewhere. I think it is likely that in this case the member will soon find that their post has been censored or deleted.

It seems to me that you have done all that can be done for this member within the limitations of 7 Cups.

You know, I have PTSD and the written daily therapy here has been far more useful than any in person therapy I had in the past... I do hope this member will still be able to freely write on here...
