Straight catagory?
Hi. I notice there are other types of catagories, for what sexuality they are. But not one for those who are straight. Just thought I'd bring it up.
Gay/bi/pan/ace categories are for those who discuss what it's like being on the LGBTA+ spectrum and coming out to their parents, that's why we have them.
You shouldn't have to come out. You should just be able to show up with your bf, gf, or itself, without any questions being asked,or glances shared......ugh. Society sucks.
Straight people can talk about being straight anywhere and find tons of people who are also straight. It's not the same when you're queer/ LGBTQ. We can't go anywhere and talk about it because we can't guarantee our safety. We need safe spaces. You want to talk about being straight? Go outside.
I think people here are being a bit harsh, but they mean that most people will just assume you are straight unless you specify otherwise. :-)
No, we mean that it is literally safer to be straight. That straight is seen as "normal" and it is accepted. No one is being intentionally harsh. The fact is that there aren't places especially for straight people because straight people are accepted everywhere.
I want to apologize if I was a little harsh. This is a topic that makes me kind of emotional, but there's no need for me to jump down people's throats about it. Sorry if anyone is offended.
There are the Relationship Support and Relationship Support Community sections. Between those two areas, it's likely you can find a place to post about things related to being straight.
