Technical problems with one-on-one conversations

Hi guys, I'm a brand-new listener and am experiencing technical problems when people try to have one-on-one chats with me - their messages sometimes don't come through for 1-4 minutes after they are posted (as I can see by the time stamp). Making conversations really difficult, and I have to refresh the page to get these messages... This never happened when I was the guest and other people listened to me, and it's the same interface, and at this end, same browser and laptop. Any ideas? Cheers!

We will have to figure out what is different because as you say chats should work just as well for guests as for members and listeners.

Are these problems happening for you in the app or on the website, @cerebralSunbeam44?

@KrinkTheMellowUnicorn: I always use the website, off my laptop, no other device. I have worked out that the transmission speed offered by our tower affects this problem. We are in a rural area with Internet via tower, not cable. The tower is somewhat overloaded, and sometimes atmospheric conditions also interfere with signal strength. I'm pretty sure the problem was with our Internet connection. Thanks for responding, much appreciated! :-)

@cerebralSunbeam44 - interesting... thanks for giving more context to understand this.

does refreshing the screen tend to at least get the latest posts or when the network conditions are poor does that workaround sometimes also fail as well?

@KrinkTheMellowUnicorn - yes, the refresh helps, but sometimes there has been up to a 3 minute lag in receiving incoming messages even with refresh. I do think it was our tower... was worst when the school holidays had just begun and tower under load!
