I know this site isn't really for suicidal people they mainly tell you to call a help line but what do you do when your so shy that your scared to talk about it. I don't know what's wrong with me anymore everything is making me sad, my job which I hate so much the main problem , people, my relationship which I suck at I feel like my be deserves better, I don't feel Good enough to be here anymore, I feel like my dreams of me becoming a singer, or a school therapist keeps on being crushed, I feel servery depressed every little thing makes me sad Now I cry almost everyday which affects me at work because I'm highly sensitive and I don't understand why people are so mean to me they constantly try and change how I am so since I'm really shy people tell me to talk more and when I do talk I mess up I'm fine being shy that's Just how this world made me I feel like I'm suffocating on the street and I'm slowly dying and I need immediate help I'm just so stressed out =( I just need a friend who gets me because no one else does.

Hey musicalBerry , I know exactly what you mean . Trust me ! I almost stood there in shock after reading your post because it was almost like you read my mind . We just need to k earn how to cope with things differently. I am extremely shy as well so people take that for weakness, especially at work ! But you need to draw a boundary . Like "yes , I am shy and there's nothing wrong with that . just don't mess with me cause that's the ground I stand and won't let you ." With your relationship I feel the same exact way . You feel like they can do better with someone else than with us . But tha t had a lot to do with our self esteem . We are all beautiful. I know it sounds corny but we are . If we weren't , we wouldn't a boyfriend to begin with . Lol we need to let them know they CANNOT do better than us .

You do not and better not change yourself for ANYONE or ANYTHING . That takes YOUR beauty away . That is who you are and who people are gonna have to deal with or move along .

Hi @MusicalBerry

Yes, you're right in saying that as listeners we are required to refer those guests and members that come to us and are actively suicidal. But, yes, when you're shy or the socially anxious type it's a very challenging thing to do. I certainly can acknowledge that so it's a difficult situation from both sides of the fence really.

With regards to being shy, I can certainly relate to that because I'm shy myself. In fact, I used to be painfully shy as in wallflower shy. I know a lot of introverted people as like tends to gravitate to like when you're introverted. One of them shared something with me one time which makes a lot of sense to me and may make some sense to you when you consider the rest of my post. I'll give you the link here.

The quote that really sums introversion up for me the most is one by Susan Cain who wrote, "Don

Hey, if it helps. I'd like to suggest a few things I do to cope with the feelings. When I feel really low, sometimes I feel angry as well. So it helps for me to wreck something: punching a pillow, ripping up paper, throwing my bedsheets across the room. If it's just a general thing in the back of my mind... Well, I write books. So I put all of the emotion I have into writing them and being creative. Maybe if you can't write books, learn to draw, write songs, or do poetry. It doesn't matter if it's any good or not. The point is, you got it out of you and that's what you needed to do. Sometimes I find it helpful to write a letter that I'd never send. Some of these have been to my friends and boyfriend and even my parents and myself. I've written letters where I've personified everything inside me and told my depression how much I hate it and how one day I'm going to kick its arse. I know life sucks and everyone says this, and this is a constant thing I heard at my worst a year ago. Things will get better. Maybe not now, not in an hour, a day, week, month, year. But eventually, it will. I promise. Last year I cried every single night and I was on the verge of suicide every other day. I even attempted a few times, which all failed. Two years after the last attempt, I am one year clean of SH, two years clean of attempts. I am a happier person, despite everything in my life right now. And not to sound preachy, but you'll be better too. I promise. You've just gotta hang in there :)

Hey Chlopandactyl, I just wanted to say thanks for the tips. I really like your advice, especially the books, songs, and letter writing. I can't write for jack but as you said it wouldn't matter because that isn't the point. So I will have to try to give it a shot and see if it helps. Also it's nice to hear you are doing so much better than you were, that's awesome!

Hey, I'm sorry you are feeling so badly, believe me when I say I know exactly how you are feeling. In fact the reason I clicked on your post was because I was hoping to find some good advice to your question, as I have been in serious need of it myself. Wish I could help you feel better but I'm in the same boat as you. But I will point out as others have, that you said you have a boyfriend. That seems like a possible source of happiness. Perhaps focusing on any love in your life might help get you through those really dark times. And to answer your question ( but for the love of god don't take it as advice because it ain't ) ....I sit, and panic, and try desperately hard to think of absolutely anything else. No surprise It doesn't seem to help me any, probably because I am never successful at suddenly changing my train of thought. I always end up having to ride the wave and just hope it's a short one. Luck to ya, hope you find something that actually helps you.

Never worry about becoming what other people want you to be, there is only one reason to change anything, if you are not happy with who you are. Only you can know if you are happy, only you can say of your life "This is my creation, in which I am well pleased"
