Internet Safety Tips

The internet is an awesome place and can be a great way to find support and make friends, but it's also important to be careful about how and where you share information online. In honor of Safety Week, here are some tips to help keep yourselves safe on 7 cups:
- Never share your social media or personal contact info with other users on the site. Offsite contact is not allowed on 7 cups.
- Don't make your 7 cups username the same username you use on other social media accounts. Similarly, don't use a photo of yourself that you have shared on other social media accounts. Both of these things may make it easier for others to find you offsite.
- Do not include your full name or other personal details in your username.
- Never accept a request to connect offsite. Additionally, never agree to meet up with someone in person that you have met onsite. Unfortunately, some people are not 100% truthful about who they really are.
- Choose a strong password for your account and do not use the same password that you use on other sites. Never share your password with others.
- If you ever post photos online, make sure there are not personal details in the background of your picture. (ex: street names, house numbers)
- Report any bullying or inappropriate messages sent to you.
Lastly, do not measure your self-worth by comparing yourself to others online.

These are awesome tips! I would like to add some!
Always be wary of someone who suddenly asks a lot of personal questions. While they might just be curious, it is better to stay safe.
Also until you know otherwise, assume someone isn't who they say they are on the internet.
