Why we feel like the Center of Attention
Don't you sometimes feel like you are the center of attention for someone or some people, but not in a good way, rather in a way where they point fingers at you? They tell you what you are, what you are not, what you have to do, and what you are doing wrong. That center of attention that lives in our minds, thinking they tell us with looks and laughter, pointing directly at us.
And I wonder, what are they looking at, right? Do they like me so much that they pay attention to me? Haha. It may not always be like that, but if it's the opposite, sometimes those attitudes can shape how we face our daily lives if we come to depend on those people who point us out.
And that is exactly what can affect us in the future. What we become depends on what we listen to and how we present ourselves to the world. And I have an opinion about that. And it is, I don't care. I understand that society has rules and unwritten codes, both in terms of clothing and behavior on the street, or being polite to the person in front of you, etc. But if a person attacks us by criticizing us aggressively, we must make two decisions. One is to listen to them, take what they said, see if you consider it, if it helps you, and say: "Well, I could implement it to see what happens." And if none of what that person said is useful to you, then don't even let it cross half a centimeter of your precious brain to process that kind of information that is of no use to us.
I don't have a fully formed theory or anything like that, but I like the concept that what we think and do is what defines and describes us as people. Both inside and outside our home. We are masters of our own decisions. And that includes our way of living and communicating. I feel that it's a good way to look at life in the face of the obstacles we have ahead of us.
Tell me what you think. I like reading opinions.
Sincerely,
Jordi.

I get what you mean and when we let it, this can greatly affect us 🩷🤗
But I am the kind of person, that doesn't listen or let other people's opinions dictate my worth or ruin my day.
I know my integrity and the type of person I am.
I only value the opinions of people who know me in my everyday life, and their feedback is welcome because they know me 🩷🤗
That’s what I’m talking about. Self-protection and love always comes first.
Thanks for sharing it, Amanda :)

I'm dealing with the same problem currently.. I totally agree with you. However I am still working to strenghen my self-assuredness on how I react internally.
It's my current challenge.
