Body image issues

Honestly I kind of don’t like my body nor how I look in general. So basically I’m pretty skinny with my curves which I hate.. Ik this is TMI but I wish I could have a bigger butt and a bigger cup size I barely have any which bothers me since i know not every black girl is supposed to be slim thick but it’s a common feature I see everyone else have but I don’t it feels unfair. Plus the girls in my family have curves but i don’t. My aunt always have to point out that I have no curves like I already feel bad enough.. My friend who has bigger curves than me would make fun of me too though I told her I felt insecure about it. I tried to talk to my mom about it but at the end she just will get mad at me so I don’t tell her anymore.. I also kind of hate my face I have ugly teeth with a overbite, with noticeable dark bags (born with sadly), a huge hyperpigmentation spot, and this weird muscle in my chin that activates when I’m resting my face with I hate. I just feel so ugly and it honestly doesn’t make me feel better that some ppl think I’m a middle schooler. I just feel like it’s so unfair I’m genuinely so ugly and honestly some ppl just get the short stick in looks and sadly I’m one of those people I just feel sad.

🥺

I have no doubt you are no ugly.

It is hard, we all want something different, bigger this, smaller that.

It's hard not to compare but you need to not bottle things up and let yourself end up hating yourself!

I believe that beauty is insividual and there are many people that would think you are good looking and attractive. Someone can fall in love with your what you see as flaws and with mutual respect it all works out for you just as it is.

Thank you for your bravery in sharing all of this. Know you always have this space to share, vent, whatever it is you need to do as you navigate your life.

"Beauty is in the eye of the beholder" is a cliche, but there's truth to it, because beauty is a matter of opinion. Not everyone finds the same things attractive, AND those who love unconditionally and deeply don't see physical attributes as the be all end all of things. They see what's in your heart, what makes you laugh, what makes you smile, as more important than if every part is as society at large and media declare attractive or hot or beautiful.

You have plenty of time to build yourself up to where you will be comfortable in your own skin. Im very sorry people have been mean, especially in your circle of friends and family.

Thank you for also shining light on the expectations of black women as far as physical attributes go. I think as a society, we tend to overlook that, and Im here to tell you that's so unfair to you. You didn't do anything to deserve this.

The way you see yourself, its not going to change overnight, but you will get there. I promise.

@limegreenShip6945I’m really sorry you’re feeling this way about yourself. It’s tough when the things you wish were different about your body and face make you feel less confident or unfairly judged. Remember, beauty is so much more than just physical traits, and everyone has unique features that make them who they are. It’s painful when people close to you don’t understand or unintentionally add to your insecurities, but your feelings are valid. Sometimes, focusing on small acts of self-care and self-kindness can help you slowly shift how you feel about yourself. Finding supportive friends or communities that celebrate all kinds of beauty can also make a big difference. You deserve to feel good about yourself just as you are. If you want, I can share some ideas or resources to help build self-acceptance and confidence over time.
