Feeling misunderstood?
Does anyone else ever feel totally misunderstood? I feel my whole life from the time I can remember people my age never made a match. I always was either more mature or thinking on a different wave length, more in depth, more soul searching. I’ve always over thought, over analyzed and over complicated ever situation in my life, due to my passionate personality. I can be so passionate and so insane some days. People just think I’m odd. I try suppressing it all the time. But it’s just not me. So I hide myself in the gym underneath some weights and a false identity. I train and train to build myself stronger so people see me as strong. And to find out I’m no stronger than anyone else. Have you ever just wanted someone to see you for exactly you? Put in the effort to get to see you and your true soul? And not be scared of all your quirks? Yes is my answer too. Then why do we live in a society that is so bent on trying to strip us of who we naturally are? Why do we edit our selves? Why do we Botox, put makeup on, , fix our hair, polish ourselves in whatever way we can… just to be at home alone despising ourselves anyway. If you feel that way, you’re not the only one. I wake up everyday just wishing I had one person. One person to finish my sentences and shout out my thoughts.

We have that society from over consumerism and $$$. perfect makeup and appearance do not make a person worthwhile IMO.
The strongest asset a person can have is confidence in themselves quirks and all.
How easy is it to convince someone if they get some product, it will make them fit in. Then IF they figure it out come up with a new item to sell to same people telling them "This will fix you"
The person choses to be fake to "fit " or be themselves. We are not going to meet that person who "gets" us completely if we meet when fake and then think we can show the real us later.
Only when I did not care about what others thought and quit trying to fit in ... did I actually find people who really get me... most who do Not understand me are Fake. Those people find my not doing everything like the herd of fake.. is a threat to their belief that fake wins.

Thank you for sharing this! Definitely felt some of this myself too! I like to refocus on myself and what's in my control in moments where I get overwhelmed with thoughts. I'm hoping you find a community here to share your thoughts and not feel alone in this - because you are not :)
I really relate to this. That feeling of being on a different wavelength, of having so much depth and intensity inside you and not knowing where to put it is exhausting. Wanting just one person to truly see you, without fear or judgment, is something i struggle with as well cause I don't have any connection with anyone.
I cope in my own way through my faith. As a Muslim, I remind myself that nobody else sees my heart, my intentions the way Allah does. This world places so much weight on appearances, makeup, looks, bodies, image, but none of it lasts. None of it goes with us when we die. That perspective grounds me and reminds me that our worth was never meant to be measured by how polished we look or how well we fit in but how our intentions are in our heart.
That said, I want to be honest too, faith helps, but never completely diminishes what I want. Knowing these things are temporary doesn’t erase the loneliness or the desire to be understood by another human being and I am just being patient. I always pray that one day there will be someone and i believe there will be but it's the patience for me thats really hard. Some days it’s still really heavy, and I still struggle with feeling misunderstood or with trying to make myself smaller so I belong with people who don't reach the level of understanding i do.
But I hold onto the belief that being deep, emotional, and different isn’t a flaw. It’s part of our soul. And the right people, when they come, won’t need us to edit ourselves. Until then, it helps to remember that being true to who we are matters more than any version of ourselves this world asks us to perform.
Just know that you’re not odd for feeling this way. And you’re definitely not alone in the feeling. I pray the Lord blesses you and make it easier for you. Just keep your heart pure, this world really isn't worth anything to ruin ourselves over.
@adaptablePapaya5774you read my mind and my exact thoughts.
I am glad. Just be patient though brother. If you don't have anyone, it's because you're probably looking in the wrong places. Keep your intentions pure and stop caring about the superficiality of the world or people. This world is designed as a test, and the more we keep ourselves pure is the more reason we can gain happiness. Also as a Muslim, we are taught the way of life which is why nothing really phases us but we are also taught that the environment we are in matters alot. God tells us to remove ourselves from spaces where we are not appreciated. I personally will be leaving soon to somewhere where I can have freedom but I suggest that if you have the means, change your place and look into some other place to start anew. Look into new things. Start fresh and I pray you'll find peace.
