As much as I want to beleive I know the difference it is still confusing to me.

Is self estem, self worth and self value the same thing?

Is self confidence simply when you are confident about doing something in particular regardless of how you value or estem yrself.

Can somebody really be self confident and yet have low self esteem?

Des the stress level of a self confident person who speaks in public , for an example, vary depending on his self esteem level ?

Any thoughts?

Voila!

🙂

@Ashkano I have no idea. I would of thought they are the same thing too.🤔🤔🤔

@Ashkano I think they are different. I think self confidence can be on different levels. For example I’m confident that I’m a great account and golfer but not so confident as a public speaker. Self esteem is more generally how you feel about yourself inside regardless of your abilities.

Disclaimer: in real life I’m not an accountant, I’m a terrible golfer, but I feel good about myself despite my lack of ability in these areas.

@FlatenedByLife I tried to google after answering here. Wow it certainly seems like there are a lot of confusing answers.

But this article from Psychology Today seems to agree with my ideas of what it is.

I looked up the definitions.

Confidence is an emotional state as in "I am feeling confident"

Self Esteem is an idea. How you view yourself.

hi there!

in my opinion, i agree these three are different from each other. self esteem is about what is one's attitude towards themselves. self worth is what a person thinks about themselves in achievements and goals. self value can be about importance.

i believe self confidence is something exclusive to our soul and mind. self confidence is about affirmation and our perceptions. someone may be confident in front of everyone but could have really low self esteem.

i think yes, because a lot of time experience makes people confident. self esteem is one's respect towards themselves. they're ofcourse interrelated but independent.

the one who has a positive approach will always seem more confident than the one who doesn't believe in themselves. confidence might not show anything related to esteem but esteem does.

there are just my thoughts and not professional!

thank you. hope you have a good day!
