Hey there @Aries1235 *hugs* (if you are okay with it)

Welcome here! We are really glad to have you here with us! heart

First of all, I want you to know that I can imagine that it had to be hard and scary even to come here and reach out for help but you have done it and I am really proud of you. :)

To answer your question, yes, this is a really big place but there are some things you can do to start here. Depending on what you are looking for you can for example browse listeners
>here< and you can select the "More Filters" option to look for listeners who are good and comfortable with the topic of self-harm for private 1-on-1 support. :)

Here, on the forums, we have this
>welcome thread< where you can introduce yourself and even find some resources as well. Also, we have these check-ins going on here, We post one here every day so you are more than welcome to join us here, we would be glad to have you here with us. heart

Also, at the end of my last post you can find a link to subscribe to our taglist if you want. That way we will be able to tag you in forum threads, like these check-ins or event threads or such in the future. No pressure tho. :)

You may also take a look at the self-help guides we have
>here<. There is one specifially for Self-Harm as well as many different topics. It can be a good start as well. :)

Also we sometimes have open chats and discussions in our chat room, however it is only open at those times and I am not part of the team that is working in the rooms so I am not sure of the schedule but I will get that to you as well as soon as I can if you are interested :)
In fact, poking @bear228 for you here :P

Well, I am sure I have missed a few things and this still may be a bit confusing for you so feel free to aks any questions and I will try my best to answer it or find someone for you who can answer it :)

Stay awesome! heart

Hey there @Littleblu *hugs* (if you are okay with it)

It is always really nice to hear from you around here! heart

I am glad to hear that you are feeling okay today and, indeed, Netflix is an amazing thing ^-^

I am sorry to hear that you have had such a hard week tho but I do hope that you will be able to recharge a bit and relax not that it is weekend :)

Hmm...it sounds like a lot of math to do. I can imagine it can be overwhelming to look at it but, what if, you would just try to get one week of it done at a time - or one day even? I mean, you do not have to do all one month right here right now just try to do as much as you can. :)
No pressure tho, but things like this, setting smaller goals can be useful especially if you are able to measure it somethow as well - that is why I have said one week but you can go with 5 or 10 questions at a time or so. Either way tho, I want you to know that I believe in you, you can do it! ^-^

Oh..fruit tea is amazing and now I want to make some as well. :P
I do hope that you will be able to take a short walk as well sometimes later on as it can help a lot as well to get some fresh air. :)

Stay awesome! heart

@redmark Hey How are you?

Not doing so good at the moment. Started last night, just too much in my head. Tired, tired of feeling tired. Sometimes it just seems pointless. Trying not to look at it that way but..

KInd of a roller coaster week, up and down. Group today. One part says yes, maybe this can get better if we go, another says why bother. Sorry this is such a depressing post.

Snowed again late night, just enough to make a mess. Not even gonna clear the lane. 4 wheel drive should handle it, unless there's ice under it. Too cold to do anything outside. So no walks. Deer were out front. Did finally finish a book, ended stupid though.

Have a good weekend, take care

Hey there @mytwistedsoul *offering safe hugs* (just in case you may want one, no pressure)

It is always really nice to have you here with us! heart

I am actually feeling okay today - which is a good thing for me :P - thank you for asking :)

That sounds hard for sure. Is there maybe something we can help you with or just venting a bit maybe? I mean, either way, you are not alone in this and together we can get through this - I do believe in it and believe in you anyways :)

Hey, you have absolutely nothing to be sorry for, thank you for trusting us so much and sharing your feelings with us, it really means a lot.! ^-^
I know that struggle. Or, well, something like that. I have thoughts like that often as well doubting myself. What I try to do is just ask myself what can I lose with it. I mean, usually not much and from what you have shared here you do enjoy that group. Of course, you know yourself the best, so only you can decide for youself but I feel it would be worth it to go anyways. No pressure tho :)

Oh...my boss, the one who is the VP of the company in the US and sometimes visits us, has lived in Alaska besides many places and told us stories including that deers are no joke. I have never seen one tho, but based on his stories it sounds kind of scary anyway. Either way tho, rambling aside, I am sorry to hear that the weather is not really the best there for you, I hope it will turn better soon :)
Anyway...what book you were reading? :)

Stay awesome! heart

@redmark I'm glad you're feeling better.

Me too, sorry about earlier. I get a little over whelmed with what goes on in my head sometimes. There's just alot going on here sometimes and it's hard to make sense of some of it. It's frustrating and I get angry and I don't know what to do with it all. I did go to group, even talked to a few people afterwards. I sent up a support system with them, if it gets like that again. I mean it's nice to come in here and talk but there are times it's not enough. So I asked for outside help.

Yeah deer aren't always as peaceful as they look. The bears are a bigger problem.

I guess it can't stay winter forever. And it did work it's way out of the teens today, so there's hope

Elevation - Stephen King

Thank you...Take care

@mytwistedsoul You have absolutely nothing to be sorry for. :)

Anger is a really strong emotion and can be especially hard to handle but I think you are doing a good job with it expressing it here, in a safe space. In fact, you have not hurt me at all, you have just been venting your frustrations and it was not aimed at me or anyone and it is totally okay :)

I am also glad to hear that you have decided to go that group and setting up a support system in real life as well definitely sounds nice.

Oh...yep...bears sound more scary for sure :P ... unless they are teddy bears, I guess

You know, I have never read much from Stephen King although I know that he is a really famous and, based on what I have heard from others, good writer. I may try to read that book as well and see it for myself :)

@redmark

How are you feeling today? :)
I really feel like self harming today, but I have kept it distant by riding my bike like crazy. Hopefully the feeling will go away soon. It's not even bc I feel sad or something, I just feel like I need to feel something. And that's fucked up, bc I haven't cut in almost 3 months now.

Other than that I feel ok. I have an overwhelming need to work out like crazy today, and that's weird bc I hate sweating, but I have done it anyway. I have worked my way through the first 9,7 km today, and I have 16 km waiting for me later today. It has been extra hard these last few days, bc there has been a lot of wind and it's hard when the wind work against you. But I feel ok. I don't feel like eating, but I feel ok.

How was this week for you? Do you have anything on your mind you would like to share? :)
This week my grandma got pneumonia for the first time in a year, it's a new record for her bc earlier she had pneumonia every month. Guess her new medicin is working. I have helped her by buying food at the local grocery store and such. I feel like a good grandkid.

I have also been with my SFT-group and it was nice to be back with them again. I have actually missed it, somehow.

Have you got to take some time for yourself and self-care lately? Is there maybe something you can do now? :)
Not much, bc I'm working out like crazy in this period. Or is that self-care? I'm not really sure. But I'm looking forward to a long bath next week, bc I have a bathtub, but it's f*ing expensive to fill it. So I try to do it only once a week.

Hey there @EvilRegalsReadToo *hugs* (if you are okay with it)

It is always really nice to hear from you around here! heart

Aww...well, self-harming is really a habit that can be hard to break out of and it can really stick with you for a long time but I thing that is why it is important to learn how to distract yourself and how to express yourself and how to deal with those urges and you have done exactly that and I am really proud of you for being so strong, you are really doing an amazing job with your recovery. heart

Working out can definitely be good way to deal with those urges and just going out to the fresh air and doing it like that can be really amazing. Of course, make sure that you are not pushin yourself too hard with that either, especially if the weather is bad outside it is okay to take breaks or even to maybe do less some days when the weather - or any other circumstances - does not allow you to do more :)

I am really not good when it comes to EDs tho but if there is anything I may help you with feel free to reach out to me anytime here as well.

Oh...I am sorry to hear that your grandmother has got pneumonia, although, I am glad to hear that her medications are working like that keeping her more healthy. I think it was really nice and thoughtful of helping here out and I do think you are a good grandkid. :)

I have to admit, I am not sure what SFT is - sorry >.< - buuut I am glad to hear that you have enjoyed your time with that group :)

I think work out counts as self care and, also, that bath you have got planned there sounds like a really nice way to just relax after some good work out too. ^-^

Stay awesome! heart

@redmark

Thank you. I'm really trying not to cut, and up to now it hasn't been that hard to not do it. It's just... today it was really hard not to, and I just worked it out by working out.

I know, but it's just so hard bc my copeing mecanism for everything has become riding my bike. If I'm angry, I do it. If I feel like selfharming, I do it. If I'm hungry, I do it. If I'm sad, I do it. If my voices is worse than normally, I do it. Somehow that runs up to be a lot of kilometers throughout the day. At least 19 kms every day, often more like 25,5 kms, and somehow that feels like a lot when I see the numbers. I mean... everything hurts right now. My joints are killing me especially my right knee.

But I can tell you. I haven't done the 25 kms today bc it was raining like a lot and the wind was very forceful. But I gonna do it tomorrow instead - that's of course my ED talking.

SFT is the danish word for it, I guess you call it 'Social Skill Training/group' in English. Is basically learning how to cope with your symphtomes and talk to others.

sounds like I'm in the right place, thanks for the tips. A life story seems too long, complicated and pointless, so I'll just say that its been a hard week. I'm by my self most of the time and trying to refrain from self harm is hard when the only person you rely on is you. Hopefully, this site will help me feel less alone in the world and give me strength enough to stop. @redmark
