@brenbird I'm so sorry, it's hard to feel this kind of judgement from the person who's supposed to support you the most. Have you tried to talk to her about it, to tell her how you feel and check how she feels? I don't know if you are very close and if it's hard for you to communicate openly with her, but it's probably your best chance to deal with this. It's better to leave nothing unsaid.

I hope this doesn't make you feel like there's something wrong with you. Scars are nothing to be ashamed of. If anything, scars show how much you've been through, and how strong and brave you are to overcome all that. Stay strong and never be ashamed of your body or what you've been through. The only one who can judge your journey is you, and you deserve to show yourself kindness and love.
