Dear Beloved,

Reaching day 4 is an achievement. The fact that you are still holding on despite the intensity of the urges shows strength and determination. Strong urges can be overwhelming, but urges often rise and fall. They do not last at the same intensity forever.

Try to focus on getting through the next few minutes or the next hour rather than thinking about the entire recovery process at once.

Use coping strategies that have helped you in the past, such as distraction, talking to someone supportive, or engaging in activities you enjoy. Remind yourself why you chose to stay clean and what you hope to gain from recovery.

Be compassionate with yourself. Recovery is often uncomfortable, and strong urges do not mean you are failing. They can be part of the healing process.
