A Girl from my class showed me her scars (we were around 15) and I got confused about it. i didn't know what to do and one time I felt very down and was upset (heart beating fast, wanted to scream, tears) I cutted,,never" into my skin on my arm. It made me feel so much better and calmed me down, but I got scared about my scars and took a fat pen and made it to ,,never give up" so no one would get suspicious. It was a one time event. But later on I fell into the same feeling and started again, like half a year ago or something. And no I am sticked to it..

I cant really remember when I first stared self harming, its always just kind of been a thing I do when imangry or frustrated. But i remember starting to userazors when I became really depressed at an age of 14. At one point I cut almost every day but now im trying to stop and i've finally started going in therapy. Some days are harder than others but im trying to stay strong for myself and the people around me

Does therapy help?

Yes, with the right therapist it really does help. But you might have to give it some time in the beginning. Be patient. <3

The first time I cut myself I was in the pits of despair. So low and angry at myself and the world I didn't know what to do. I broke a razor into peices and scored my arm. I kept going and going getting deeper and deeper. I was 23. By that time I thought I should have known better but I'm still doing it now. I'm 28. Not so much of the cutting although I still do on occasion, more punching walls etc when I'm so angry rather than punching someone else. I don't have any other coping mechanisms really. Something I really need to work on.

The first time I cut myself was a few months ago with the sharp end of a metal nail file after debating it for a while because I knew that if my friends found out they think it was to be like some other kid. Most of my family hates me and that was the first time I truly realized it, however now I have come to terms with it haven't self harmed in weeks.

I first hurt myself after a cooking accident where my friend got burnt. I realise now it was both our faults but she made me feel so guilty. I was in a state and had had cuting thoughts before .... but that started me coping with hurt through cutting. Three weeks clean currently

The first time I was about 9 or 10. I scratched at an area of skin until it was raw. I kept doing this every now and again, until I was 15 when I started cutting with razor blades. Over the years I covered my arms, chest, stomach, thighs, hands and breasts, getting deeper and deeper. I am now covered in large scars that I'll have forever. I am 28, and have managed not to cut for about 2 years, but my ED has kinda taken its place. I think there are some people who will always need something self-destructive to help them cope and stay in control, and unfortunately I'm one of them. So whenI start feeling unmanageable, I starve myself or binge and purge instead of cutting :-( I still can't stop destroying myself :-(

The first time I was 13. I felt desperate and lonely. I used to fake a strong / cold personality to keeo the others away, specially the bullies from school. I don't remember anything else but an extreme anger controlling my senses. Everytime I cut myself I feel relief, yes I keep doing it. I stopped a year ago but some weeks ago I did it again. I feel embarrassed of my arms. I wish I could stoo again and this time forever. I feel tired of being controlled by my anger/sadness .

I was so mad. And it seems silly but i can't remember why I was so mad. But Iscratched at my skin for ages until I had calmed down. Then I realised I had minor dermatographism. So from then on I liked the look of my skin when I scratched pictures on it. The pain helped me calm down and my skin looked pretty, until the swelling went down, so i'd scratch more. The scratches would be gone by the next day so no one knew. I only did this every so often, but I do it more now because of stress.

Im an artist, so naturally I have sharp tools and blades. I don't remember when it first happened, but I remember doing it all around my fingers. After a while those scars blend in with the natural lines on hands.

I've collected a few accidental burns on my arms that will always be there, and its like I just attract them...one day I was upset about something and I realized my arms were already scared so it wouldn't matter if I added another, and no one would notice. No one did.

The first time I cut myself was when my siblings were saying some stupid names to me, and I did very few, small ones. The second time was because of my dad. Luckily I've been clean for months now...
