First time you ever experimented with self-harm?
I remember when I was 9.. when I first thought of death.
I feel like I should die if I don't perform in exams.
I feel I should be dead before my parents are gone..
I finally did it when I was 20 bcos of love and fear.. I took a bunch of pills and end up suffering instead.. guess I wasn't determine enough. So I started hurting myself. I think the physical pain inflicted on my body is less painful than my mental state.
I was 11 and I remember how my best friend turned on me and got all of my other friends to hate me. It started with scratches but then turned into a razor blade. I still struggle with coping with my feelings in other ways even 3 years later
It was my eighth grade graduation. I did it right before we left in my inner thigh because my stuck my boyfriend into my room and my family found out and it was just a HUGE mess. It hurt like crazy because my thighs would rub against eachother under my gown but it was in a way "worth it".
I think it was when I was 7 or so, when I messed up I would hit myself or fling my arm into a table or something really hard until I felt better(?).
I still do, 7+ years later. But it's not arm flinging anymore.
Since I was about 11 when ever I felt anxious and felt that pain in my chest i'd cut to not feel that pain anymore.
Back along when I was going through some very hard and confusing times in my life I used to say things in conversations and in my head I beleived that I was manipulating people by simply talking with them. Whenever someone did something that I wanted them to do, I would hate myself for it. It started to happen more and more. Throughout the day I did not care and wanted people to do what I want and I would use manipulation techniques to get my own way. But at night when I was with myself I would self harm in order to "punish" myself and discaplin myself into not doing it again.
I used sharp cutting tools to inflict cuts onto myself. I would mark a "tally chart" on my chest and upper arms. One score for each time I can remember manipulating someone. It got to a stage where I would have to wear long sleeve shirts all of the time and I had started moving onto my back.
I never stopped doing it and I never really seeked out help for it as it was a very personal thing. It was almost like a ritual for me. It brought me a lot of peace in a very unhealthy manner.
It is nice to actually be able to share this story in a very trusting community so thank you all for reading this and thank you for giving me the chance to share. Feels good
it was really recent. I guess I did it because I was so far away from everything I loved and I had no control over it. cutting was, and still is, the only thing I really feel like I have control over. I cut my ankles with a razor blade but it was too noticeable so I moved to my thighs and stomach.
I was 12 and I was dealing with diagnosed severe depression, and still do. I knew that when I did something wrong, I'd be emotionally and physically abused by my parents, so I thought that when I did something wrong, I was meant to be in pain. I moved a lot and that left me no support system of friends or even a therapist. That's when I began to hurt myself because I saw myself as wrong for having depression and anxiety. It started as small scratches on wrists with nails or scissors and developed into a full body addiction with razors that I have yet to stop.
I was four. I don't remember what I did, but my parents didn't punish me like I thought I deserved, so I sat and slammed my head against the wall for a while.
I was in 3rd grade and j wanted to hang myself I got a belt and put it around my neck and was hanging the second part but I got fought
