First time you ever experimented with self-harm?
i was 11, a girl in my school started bullying me, and told me to cut myself, when i looked up what that meant, i began to become in love with the thought of it, i first tried to burn myself, it hurt but it wasnt satisfying, so i turned to a blade and found relief
I was 13... I was isolating myself away from everyone without me realising and I kept overthinking every given situation... It was only until I saw a quote that made me realise how it represented me so well so without even thinking I got the blade and started cutting... At the time it made all my worries go away but that was until my mum found out...just thinking back to her face: the way it completely destroyed her knowing that I was in depression, it just pains me.
I was 13. I got a fight with my mother and I ran in my room. I felt so angry and wanted to broke some vases, but it didn't really help. So I found an arrow from the darts and just scratched myself with it. There were no blood but it was a beginning of the hell.
I... just did a few days ago. I must be a late bloomer because I'm in my 30's... I've always done stuff like slapping, pinching, digging my nails into my palms, etc, but nothing really *damaging* until just recently.
Since my hamster died a horrible and lingering death (which I blame myself for) I've felt incredibly guilty, I decided to deliberately burn/scar my leg as atonement. I was really careful, I have zero interest in getting an infection. The spot is slightly bigger than the end of a pencil... and, l don't know, I guess I plan on doing this any time I fail someone as badly as I did my hamster.
Maybe I'll end up with asmall constellation of scars on my right thigh, I dunno. This is the first time I've told ANYONE about this so... yeah...
I did it for the first time when I was 13... I was feeling horrible so I scratched my left hand with a piece of broken glass... I am now 15, turning 16 in November, but I still do it, now with real blades...
I started in ninth grade, so I think I was 13. I made friends with a girl from a public school and we ate lunch together every day. I quickly noticed she wasn't the type of girl I wanted to associate with, but she didn't have many friends so I continued to be her friend. One day I noticed thin white marks on her wrists and I asked her about them becayde I didn't even know what self harm was at the time. I went home, stayed up too late and hurt myself for the first time, just like she had.
I was like 9 or 10 when I tried it the first time. I regret doing so because I can't get the urge out of my mind. To me, self harm is like an addictive drug that takes time for people to get over. But just because it's addicting, people can still overcome it and take back their lives.^^
I was 14 I had a friend who used to do it but I had never herd of it but I was sick and everyone thought I was faking and it hurt so I tryed it and I have not cut in almost a year but I still miss it every day
Don't give in! You have made it this far andI know you can make it even further! It does get hard some days, but if you can tell yourself that you do matter and that thereis no reason to hurt yourself, it's possible to stop for good. I don't know you in person and I still care about what happens to you.^^ It's okay to feel weak, but there are other ways to release the pain. Try things that make you feel proud of yourself, like a hobby :) (sorry if you weren't trying to talk to me, I just felt like it needed to be said haha)
Thank you its means alot
A year is a really long time to be clean - you should be really proud of yourself <3 I know I am <3
This may sound weird, but instead of physically self-harming, I visualize myself doing so. I don't want anyone to notice anything, as I'm a very private person, so along with everything else, I keep all of my self-harm, bottled up? I imagine cutting myself and burning myself; imagine the feeling, and that has done the job for me so far. I try my best not to, but sometimes I just can't help it.
I think that's what I do now, I've been trying to stop but I will always imagine it
I was 10 I wasn't doing so well in school and at home and I heard about cutting. I t wasn't so bad at first but it progressed and now I have urges to take out a knife or scratch myself.
I was 12 and felt like I was dead. I wanted release all the feelings I bottled up.
