The color of blood is so beautiful.
The pain from the cut, just makes me feel better.
To me it means for someone to intentionally hurt themselves whether it be cutting, starving, hair pulling etc. Also an unhealthy way of coping with ones problems.
To me, self harming is creating physical pain to deal with emotional and/or mental pain. We cut ourselves, burn ourselves, starve ourselves, force ourselves to toss up, etc., in order to forget everything around us. It's like fighting fire with fire.
To me self harm is an action that occurs when we're so desperate for all of it to stop. Because it justdoesn't all stop in the blink of an eye, we do this to have at least a little relief. My personal thinking is that it's something to replace suicide and all of my negative emotions
my mantra is:
turn my emotinal pain into physical pain.
After cuting myself with razorblades i felt better. It was like first deep breath of fresh air after spending a day in steamy room. Really. So for me it is relief
I self-harm to try to forget my emotional pain by creating physical pain. It also makes me feel instantly calmer.
I have a broader sense and think when you knowingly do something that hurts your body or is putting your being in danger it is self harming. Cutting, repeated driving fast, rec use etc....but thats just me.
When I was a teen it meant to release my inner demon ... But now that I'm in my forties I see it as adding more pain on top of the inner pain I feel now so therefore it's pointless to do it...
To me it means when someone harms themselves in anyway. Whether it be a cut or telling yourself that you're fat. Pulling your hair or making you're self bleed. Punching something or hating yourself.
