Abandoned chats (again)
This is just a reminder that at the time of writing we still have a faulty chat censor. It blocks entire messages that contain certain phrases, but the messages it blocks are often harmless. Listeners, members and guests can all be affected.
Unfortunately, when your message is blocked it can make you feel like you should stop the chat immediately. This is never appropriate. The person you are chatting to will not know what has happened. They will think you abandoned the chat.
In many cases you can continue the chat by rewording the message or by using deliberate misspellings.
If the chat really does need to end, it is always possible to end it in a polite and caring way, explaining why it cannot continue.
If you are chatting to someone and they suddenly stop responding, it can be helpful to reassure them: "Was your message blocked? It's OK. There's a known technical fault. You can try again using different words." This kind of reassurance might sometimes rescue chats that would otherwise fail.

yes, I've just had this. I said to a member "I've been working you hard,and I hpe that this will mean you get a really good nights sleep."
That was blocked. After a couple of tries, I discovered that by purposefully spelling hard "ha rd" meant it passed the censor.
As you say, irritating and pointless, but I think the site has to try and protect members from abusers (who can spell correctly lol).
