Request for 'Dark Mode' and/or custom backgrounds.
This is a bit of a request, but would it be possible to able to add an option for a 'dark mode/theme' (similar to most browsers/google/youtube) etc so you can switch between having a white background and a darker shade of grey? or at the very least the option to add your own custom backgrounds to your profile for some extra customization? sometimes i strain my eyes gazing into the forever empty void of white in the background and it would be nice to have the ability to switch, Lol 👌🐸

Yes, it's possible and it has been done a few times, at least partially. See: Midnight Chat - A Dark Theme for 7cups Group chat
I don't know whether that one still works. One of the problems with these customizations is that changes to the site sometimes break them.
There are tools you can use to make your own, but it's surprisingly time-consuming to make a dark mode that works everywhere.

@RarelyCharlie Ah, dang, how about custom backgrounds for profiles? would that be equally difficult to make? thanks for the link by the way, looking to try it out later to see if it still works.
I'm not sure what you mean by custom backgrounds for profiles.
You can easily specify backgrounds for parts of the About You section of your own profile. For example, the message at the top of mine right now has a green background.
I don't think you can specify a background for your entire profile page (although I haven't actually tried).
You can also modify how any pages appear on your own computer, but you cannot modify how they appear on other people's computers.

@RarelyCharlie Ah, yeah, that's not what i mean by background, i mean the entirety of your profile page, i have something similar to you, i also have banners on the sides, i want to make the entire page have a different background, similar to what happened on the 5th anniversary with the confetti background a few days ago.
As far as I know, you can only modify the entire page background on your own computer. Everyone else would see the original background.

@RarelyCharlie Ah, i see, i thought it would work alongside the same coding principles that display/profile pictures, banners and center images of your profile would, dang, i would love to have more personalization options, i also miss back in the day when you could add HTML music playlists on websites that played music from YouTube, that'd be neat.

If you install the Stylish extension on Google Chrome, you can find a dark/night mode extension for this site (among many other sites, as well). Tagging @Joe2017 and @Jack who created some of the styles!
