Hi everyone,

The One Line a Day Journal has become a vital part of our daily routine here at 7 Cups. It is a space where we can pause, check in with ourselves, and offer silent support to one another. To ensure the Community Reflections feed remains a safe and healing environment for everyone, we are sharing this updated set of guidelines for public journal entries. Please keep these in mind when you choose to make your daily line public:

1. Safety and Crisis Support
The public feed is intended for daily reflection and emotional processing. For the safety of the entire community, please do not post content regarding active self-harm, suicidal ideation, or graphic trauma. If you are in crisis, please reach out to a professional or a dedicated crisis service immediately.

2. Protecting Your Privacy
To maintain your safety and the safety of others, do not share personally identifiable information in public entries. This includes:

  • Full names or addresses

  • Phone numbers or email addresses

  • Social media handles or external links

3. English Only Space
To ensure our moderation team can effectively maintain safety and support for everyone, all public journal entries must be written in English. This is the same rule adapted from our forums and group rooms. If you prefer to journal in another language, please keep those entries set to "private."

4. Religious Topics
We recognize that for many, faith is a vital part of emotional wellness and daily reflection. Because our community is wonderfully diverse, religious topics can sometimes unintentionally make others feel excluded. To ensure the public feed remains a neutral, unifying space for quiet connection, please keep religious or spiritual reflections out of your public entries. We encourage you to continue using the journal for these deeply personal reflections by switching them to the "private" setting. For open, public discussions regarding faith, please visit our Religion & Spirituality forum.

5. General Community Standards
All public journal entries must align with our site-wide standards. This means no medical advice, no promotional content or spam, and no language that is harmful, judgmental, or exclusionary. You can find our full, detailed guidelines here: 7 Cups Forum Guidelines & Community Guidelines

6. Listener Boundaries and Role Integrity
For our Listeners using this feature: please remember that your public reflections must align with your role. Any public entry that could be viewed as crossing the listener role (such as sharing confidential information, venting about members, or undermining professional boundaries) is strictly prohibited. Your public presence should reflect the same standards of trust and safety expected in the chat rooms.

The One Line a Day feature is designed for quiet connection. While other members cannot comment on your public entries, they can "heart" them to show you are heard. We encourage you to use this feature to offer validation and kindness to your fellow community members.

For a refresher on how the feature works, including how to toggle entries between private and public, you can visit the original announcement here: One Line a Day Journal Feature

Thank you for continuing to make this space a source of light and reflection!
