One Line a Day Journal Feature!
We will be releasing and testing a new feature that we are calling the One Line a Day Journal. This will sit right above the Learn/Explore/Grow tool on the member dashboard and right above the stats module on the listener dashboard.
This was inspired by the one second a day video app. My daughters have been using this for years. They record a 1 second video every day. The app then links all the 1 second videos together. 60 days is a minute for example. It is fun and they enjoy it. We have already tried the idea of combining this idea with journaling in the community through our One Line A Day Challenge launched in 2023, which gained good feedback from everyone involved, which also inspired the idea of making the reflection experience easier for everyone through a dedicated feature.
Our One Line a Day Journal is similar. It is an easy ask - just one line a day to help you reflect and grow. You can zoom out over time and see all of your entries to learn more about yourself. A daily check-in helps you process emotions, recognize patterns, and stay present. Looking back at past entries can inspire you to keep going, even on difficult days. Additionally, there is a little box that you can tick to make the entry public. If you make it public, then other people can heart your journal entry to show support. They cannot comment. They can only heart it.
We think this will help people heal and grow in a fun way that is also social.
Other quick points:
1. Only half of you will see this tool to start. We need to test it like this to see how it works and to fix any bugs that surface.
2. You can write more than a line a day if you like.
3. The entries will be moderated to keep safety in mind as we want this feature to be a safe space for support.
Please note that this One Line a Day Journal feature does not replace the private journal feature currently present on the site but is an additional way to check-in and reflect in the context of community support.
Here is how the One Line a Day Journal feature looks like on the dashboard(s):

Toggling “Read Community Reflections” gives you a look at community submissions to support:

On the other hand, toggling the green history icon on the top right can be used to see your own entries:

@GlenM this allows us to interact with and see different perspectives, from members we would otherwise not have come across 🥰💜
