Help us name our care model!
What we are doing here on 7 Cups is really unique. Trained voluteers + technology + professionals work together to extend healthcare access. Some folks call this task shifting or task sharing. We are not huge fans of those terms, b/c we don't really feel like they capture what we do. When I think of our model I think of renewable energy - it is limitless, it is free, and we are getting better at figuring out how to channel it to help more people. We need a really good name for our model. One that will really stick and highlight the work we are doing, but also provide a framework so that other groups can provide similar care under the same title.
Here are some terms we've been thinking about. The term should sound good with both care or healthcare at the end. For example: renewable care or renewable healthcare, compassion now care, together care or together healthcare, free care, open care or open healthcare, openhanded healthcare, 7 cups care or 7 cups healthcare, horizon healthcare, lean on me care (like the song..what i've been singing all weekend as i think about us), lean on me healthcare, mutual care and connected care or connected healthcare.
The 3 key parts are:
Free - We are volunteers who provide compassionate care to to reduce suffering.
Collaborative - We work together and with professionals to provide the best care that we can given limited financial resources.
Iterative - Our care keeps getting better and better because we keep learning through training and technology experiments.
Any and all thoughts welcome!
Edit - @krinkthemellowunicorn thought of social healthcare today. How does that sound? update 2: Krink is on a roll - weCare.
Reachable Care
Practicial Care
Attainable Care
Truly Accessable Care
Practical, reachable, attainable, trulyy accessable and comfortable care ;) Just kidding
But seriously, These are some of the key factors that make this service so unique and neccesary. We literally live in a worldd where people would rather communicate electronically and are constantly intimidated by stigma and stereotype. This type of care removes so many barriers. This is also something that sets it apart from most other services in this world besides maybe those dinner that you eat in complete darkness lol But I just don't get that

A Cup 'O Care
Well I didn't quite complete my goal today. I did complete the cherub, the wall sconce, the vase, the 2 cocker spaniels, the lady, and the boy. But I didn't finish the dolphins or the Russian nesting doll. But I started to get tired and when it comes to art, you should never work tired as it could risk the integrity of the piece. So I'm calling it a night.
Percolative Support: Support that trickles through, from the 7cups Active Listening course, to the listeners, to the people being listened to, who in turn listen once they feel supported, and then glean more good energy from the feeling of being an active listener for others. Sounds like a warm cup of coffee in a percolator, too. :)

WGTEMFABP - Translated means 'We Go The Extra Mile For Able Bodied People' - Thus no discussion room for the Paralympics!!
@GlenM
Glen thanks for the up vote, I think my post was lost in translation. 7 Cups should be all inclusive, but the mere fact that the Paralympics has started and there is no discussion room for members of the site, sends the wrong message. There was a discussion room opened for the Summer Olympic Games. I've highlighted it to Laura, she's 'looped' Heather, but zero response.
There are no best perfect names..... No matter what name we will came up as long as this lovely community will be continuing giving a warm and genuine feelings of compassion, empathy, love and care.... No matter name we will come up it doesn't matter at all <3 so no matter what I hope the name will be chosen will represent what or who we really are as a lovely community, will be a name that whenever to remember it will give each person a warmth feeling of love<3

Active listening
I disagree that this is a site that provides care, the main thrust of the site is providing mental health resources along with a chatroom seperated into listeners and members. In the end, I think the main value of the site and the listeners is to educate others about the practice of listening and questioning thoughts. This allows for the person to develop critical thinking and to open new options for themselves. So, while you may believe that it needs a name like 'Peer to peer care', 'Peer to peer listening', "listening care', 'active listening care', or whatever ultimately this model is crowdsourcing people to educated themselves and providing a way to do it.
If you want a name for marketing purpose I would suggest 'crowdsource care' for the business side, or 'mental health peer to peer support service'. Either way, I believe that as the 7cups idea grows it will become more necessary to put the burden of education on the listeners and members in order for the model to have value.
