You all give so much of yourselves to our community, and everything you put forth makes a visible difference. Whether you're a listener, or a leader who works on the front or behind the scenes, every single contribution builds our community upward.

I ran into the site online, I don't remember where. It's been a good experience and I was surprised to see how much I have helped.
I guess the piece of advice is you are helping people. You have no idea how so many people are helped just by having someone to listen to them and chat as a friend, it's a great piece of support.
My favorite part of volunteering is the access that I have to so much information and that I can share it. What has made the most impact on me has been the positive reviews.

1. What initially inspired you to sign up to volunteer?
One of my clients told me that they had sought help on 7 Cups. At the time I had not heard of Cups so I googled and then came and investigated! I was intrigued at the idealogy of the site and found I loved the way I could interact with people in need and feel that I could make a difference anonymously.
2. What's the most gratifying part(s) of volunteering for you?
My second chat was with a young teen that was being abused. It was a very emotional situation and gradually we managed to make a difference to her life for the better. We chatted for nearly 3 years! It was a wonderful feeling to know that she gained strength from our chats and felt able to carry on that was a wonderful thing to have been a part of. There are so many really gratifying parts, mentoring and seeing my mentees go on to become mentors and community leaders themselves. Creating sub-communities and projects that benefit everyone, Also simple things like just being proud of volunteering at 7 Cups!
3. What's one piece of advice you would give someone who is looking to volunteer here on Cups?
Boundaries - Time management.
It is so easy to say 'yes' and all too soon find yourself overloaded with roles. The reward that volunteers get is all driven by passion and recognition as well as simple thanks and a job well done. Knowing that we can make a difference is awesome! But please don't get overloaded and find that your wonderful role has turned into a chore. Or worse, suffer from FOMO well actually FOMC (Fear of missing Cups!) Cupsworld can become addictive, especially for our teenies!
