New category
Hello forums,
Like a lot of people on here I do have some issues that I want to discuss with others, especially listeners, but what if I had a sexual problem/topic?
I was blocked several times and/or refused the request to talk about a problem of that sort, and it seems to be an issue, because sometimes listeners can be okay with talking about a topic that isn't necessairly in their area of experience but NOT if it's sexual.
I had a read at the community guidelines by @Laura that it is okay to be discussed if kept professional which I think means to not to be confused with inappropriate sex chat which is NOT allowed.
So I think it would be better to add a category in browsing listeners that allows you to filter for sexual problems listening, and to allow listeners to add that to their profiles as well. Instead of having to ask every listener about it and getting refused everytime or having them back off if things get 'too weird'.
Thank you.
Hi there,
I have a listeners account and I'll be more than happy to help you. I promise to not leave just because the conversation is a bit "sexual" because that is your issue and it seems wrong to just cast you aside
@lemon459
Thank you :)
I just want to be able to find listeners willing to help me like you easier.
Hello @Planet! This is a great issue to bring up, so thank you for doing so! Chats about a sexual problem are absolutely allowed on 7 Cups of Tea—theres a clear difference between having an actual problem related to sex and coming here to troll, flirt, or harass listeners. The chats about actual sexual problems are completely within community guidelines and perfectly acceptable so long as youre mature about the situation.
Some listeners arent comfortable with talking about sexual matters, and thats okay! But if they arent comfortable with a chat, listeners should be politely explaining that and helping you connect with a listener who is. Im really sorry if youve encountered listeners who havent behaved as professionally as they should! You deserve much better treatment than that from listeners on the site.
To make the situation go a little smoother for you in the future, a good tip when coming to 7 Cups with a sexual problem is to start the chat off by letting the listener know that youre here about a sexual problem and checking whether theyre okay with that. That ensures that both of you understand the situation and that you dont have to waste any time. If the listener isnt comfortable with the chat, you can ask them to help you find a listener who is. Starting off the conversation by letting the listener know that youd like to discuss a legitimate sexual problem is also helpful because many listeners are extremely wary of chats involving any discussion of sex because theyre nervous about being tricked by a troll. Thats likely why youre encountering listeners who simply refuse to discuss any issues related to sex. Letting a listener know from the start that you arent a troll and are here about something honest and serious eases the listeners suspicion so they can fully focus on you and your situation.
If youre interested, you can put your idea for adding a category when browsing listeners into the Member Suggestion Box! I wish you very good luck when it comes to connecting with listeners in the future and I hope youre having a good day.
