The seven cups mission.

Forgive me if I am completely wrong, as I am going off memory and haven't gone back to check or get my facts straight.

I understand that seven cups wants to reach and help as many people as possible, for free, which is a very noble thing.. But I think tirelessly welcoming more and more people to the site is at a cost.

The group support rooms are at times unmanageable and people aren't getting the right support and some even victimised.

I understand this happens across all walks of life but as a user myself and someone who has benefited from seven cups.. I think slowing down is the way forward.

As a new user, with very little understanding of the site, it was quite soon that I was prompted to become a listener myself. Now I see listeners and moderators often leaving, and the need for more constant moderators, and more guided discussions in the support rooms. I'm glad I haven't took a role as a moderator and see many others that are not ready, taking on these roles. I'm not sure if they have been prompted by other moderators or have just decided to take the role. I've also seen moderators lacking the right support or training on how to handle difficult situations and/or members. And some moderators taking on to much of the work load, where others are unable.

There's also the pressure to start paying for therapy as the listeners just can not carry the weight of all those looking for help.

I understand from an economical perspective but it diminishes Seven Cups original goal.

"If the parents are not strong and confident the children will rule the roost", and that's the way it looks things could be headed.

I hope for the success of Seven Cups as it has personally helped me, and I hope I've been able to constructively highlight some of the issues and possibly, solutions.
