Site updates - Help Text (next week)
HI Listeners!
Another exciting announcement today!
We are tightening up the help text available to listeners in 1-1 chats. And making sure that the help text and information is uniform between the app and the desktop (which it has not been).
The idea here is to give listeners as much information as we can if they need help so that both the member and the listener feel as safe and supported as possible.
Specifically, here is what we are working on:
1) add pinned help text to app (currently only on desktop). We will make sure this content is available on the app.
2) update the text content (updated content below). We havent updated this text in a while, so we figured wed tweak the language to be a little tighter while we were at it. The updated help text is:

Click here for advice and crisis referral information.
If members are mentioning thoughts of suicide, please refer them to The National Suicide Prevention Lifeline at 1-800-273-8255, www.suicide.orgor click here to locate international suicide hotline & additional crisis resources.
If you have questions about how to handle this chat or how to act as a listener, click the ? icon at the top of this chat and ask for chat support.
Please do not give advice. Learn How to Handle Requests for Advice or revisit Listener Training[ |https://www.7cups.com/listener/training.php]to review the principles of Active Listening.
If a member is being persistently inappropriate, harassing or threatening, use the block icon at the top of the chat to prevent them from contacting you further and generate an automatic report for their behavior to be reviewed.
3) Help Text scrolls with you on desktop UI
In point 2, I shared the help text we have in each 1-1 chat. Right now, this text is sticky to the top of your 1-1 chat. We will be adding functionality so that its more visible in the chat. The design is still in progress. I will share as soon as we know more!
4) Add the ? to the app - all listeners know the ?! When clicked, you will be dropped into the LSR/ Teen listeners room to find a mentor and get help. At the moment it only exists on the desktop. So well simply be adding this same functionality to the app.
The goal with this update is simply to tighten things up and make sure the desktop and app have the same experiences. Please ask any questions!
This is awesome! Just wanna ask if the small texts in gray or 'chat scripts' while chatting with a member are covered by this too?
While most of the listeners are aware that they aren't necessarily followed, there are times when new listeners tend to focus on following the scripts and end up sounding robotic or scripted.
PS. I edited your post and changed teen support room to teen listeners room to avoid confusion, I hope you don't mind!

Inner peace is the new success.
