I understand how stressful it currently is with exam results, entrance exams and preparing for interviews. But I believe we can all help each other out and get through this together.

I work at a local hospital as an OR Aide. Started as a Medical Reprocessing Tech, but switched to this OR Aide position for a couple of years now. Although not a nurse and do not work inside the operating rooms, but still work close with the nurses~
Hey @Jaeteuk nice to meet you. It sounds like a really rewarding job to have, how long have you been in this position for? I also wanted to say thank you for helping others in the local hospital, I acknowledge there are drawbacks to working within the healthcare sector, although your work truly inspires others, thank you for being so supportive to others. 💛
It's been 2.5 years now, in the OR. It's definitely nice to work with the nurses and anesthesia doctors. One the doctors came to me yesterday to thank me for the organizing the anesthetic carts nicely. A crucial reason for me to like this position. At least the doctors appreciate my work, even when my colleagues don't think much of it.

I’m Emi and I’ve been a listener here on 7 cups for a few years now.
I’m currently studying a degree in English Language, Linguistics, and Creative Writing; almost the complete opposite of medicine. I picked the degree despite always dreaming of being a doctor because when I was younger my teachers always told me that people like me aren’t supposed to be doctors, because I’m a working class disabled woman who is the first in my family to study at college and university level. Now I’m old and wise enough to know that they were completely wrong.
So in my spare time I take as many healthcare related training courses as I can, and I volunteer at related events and as a listener on 7 cups.
After I finish my degree, I’m planning to complete a graduate conversion course so I’d have a medicine degree to so that I can be a doctor like I’ve always dreamed of.
The biggest piece of advice I can give all of you is this: don’t give up on your dreams, and don’t feel less worthy for taking an unconventional route if you have to🤍

Woah English Language, Linguistics and Creative Writing sounds like a very complex degree, I admire your hard work and dedication. I totally agree with you, please don’t let others put you down, if you set your mind to it, then anything can happen.
Likewise I was constantly told I would never be good enough to study Medicine, although our determination to not give up makes use more capable of reaching our dreams. I believe we both have the experiences and skills to make chances happen! Let’s do this! 💛💛
