Struggling with Senior Year
I'm a senior in environmental science and am at the point where I don't know what to do. I have since freshman year pushed myself to take these classes, even though I do not like science one bit. My parents are paying for my college and pressured me into my major, so they're the reason I didn't switch to another major. Now I have two semesters left, but have gotten to the point where I am completely burnt out taking these hard classes in subjects I have no interest in. I have been unable to motivate myself to even attend class and am now failing all my classes this semester. I have no idea what to do at this point.

Can you talk to them about your struggles and your passions? Maybe sign up for financial aid, so you aren't fully reliant on your parents to go to school? I'm not sure where you live, but the FAFSA is a great and easy option if you live in America <3

It must be really frustrating to not be able to take the classes you want, and your parents' expectations must be very difficult to handle. Have you tried bringing up this problem and how you are genuinely not doing well in these classes to your parents? I understand that they may not be understanding, but it is worth a try if you have not had this discussion before. I hope that you find the path that is best for you, both in college and after. I hope your parents will be understanding and listen to you!
I can understand how hard this must be for you. Doing something you don’t like just to keep others happy can be really draining. You’ve come this far, and that already shows how strong you are. But if it’s burning you out, it’s okay to pause and rethink things. DM me of talk to an listener to feel more better, there’s always a way forward. You deserve to do something that feels right for you.
I really appreciate you sharing something extremely personal. It seems like you've been carrying a heavy burden for a while now, and it’s totally normal to feel overwhelmed and burnt out at this point. You’ve put in so much effort over the years, even when it didn’t feel right for you. Indeed, that’s tough, even if you don’t realize it. Being stuck in a situation that doesn’t match with who you are can be really exhausting, especially when it feels like you’re doing it for others more than for yourself. What you're going through is totally valid, and it’s no surprise that finding motivation is hard when your heart isn’t in it. You’re definitely not alone in this and lots of people feel the same way, and it’s perfectly okay to feel lost and uncertain. This space is a safe one for you, so you can share whatever you’re feeling without any judgment. You deserve to feel supported, understood, and heard. By any chance if you want my help I would be delighted to do it.💙
