Why professors enjoy humiliating people? 😭
Hi! English isn't my native language, so probably i will have a lot of mistakes, sorry ):
I'm studying psychology this is my third year and I have two years doing it online due the pandemic, I'm from south America, so the university works different here and our health system isn't the best :/
Anyway, here weren't prepared to have online classes so things became difficult, the first year it was cool, but now I can't with that, the stress is HORRIBLE, I've been struggling for over 5 months to pay attention to classes and now we have to do an investigation I'VE NEVER DO ONE , well in fact I've never do one like that, I need people responds to some tests, but I only can send that online, people never answer that, but the worst thing is that because I'm a beginner and my professor likes humiliating people, we did things wrong, we don't have the necessary to continue with the investigation and I'm so frustrated, I can't control that I feel a pressure on my chest I'm always criyng, I'm so scare, I need to pass the asignature but it's so difficult, the stress is the worst 🥺

I think often times if professors are humiliating students it's often due to frustration. It can be things like feeling that students aren't taking the material seriously, or they don't enjoy teaching, COVID stresses or just frustration with other things in their lives. Sometimes too a professor isn't meaning to humiliate students, they have high expectations and when they show their disappointment it doesn't come out well.
Can you explain more about the investigation and what's needed? If you need the participation of others would doing it for classmates and vice versa get a decent portion done?
If you need a bit more guidance with setting things up is your professor or a TA receptive to helping if you arrange an appointment to discuss things?
