i dont know what to do now
I have been planning for applying somewhere since almost 2 years. I have been searching requirements, talking to people living there, watching their videos, trying to learn the language almost imaginally living there. But i dont even know if its worth it ? Would be better in my own country. I am not sure about my major either. If i remain in my home country i can study two subjects simultaeneously which i wanna explore. But there i can study only one as its not a english speaking country. I'll have to learn language for 1 year then 4 year for undergrad. And in my home country i'll be done with undergrad in 3 years. I'll also have to do masters so i am afraid i'll take many years in university and i will not be able to do what i actually want to do in real. Also if i see in terms of job prospects for both the countries in my field , they both are backward. And in the foreign country its difficult to work as a foreigner in this field. So i am like why should i spend then 5 years away from my home? Ofcourse its not easy to get selected very few get selected from hundereds of them. It may or may not be right for me. Should i give up on this ? I am afraid i'll cry so much for not trying but i dont want to do something its not for me. I dont want to go to study there just because of that country.
@quietNickel1872, it sounds like you have a difficult decision ahead of you. Only you can answer the question about what to do because it is your life and you have to decide how you want to go about living it. Sometimes creating a T-chart with pros on one side and cons on the other is helpful. It allows one to see side by side the disadvantages and advantages of staying or going. You have to decide what values and aspects you mentioned above are important to you and then make your decision.
This will have to be a decision you make. To study in a non-English speaking country, is the field of study better than in your home country (more recognized/well-known)? Learning a different language, does your University offer that language? Learning a different language may not take a year. You just need to learn enough to understand what is being said and know how to have simple conversations. If this is something you really want to do, there are many resources to learn a new language, and if this is something you really want to do, you will put ALL the effort and time to learn it quickly and efficiently.
If you finish the field in a foreign country, it doesn't particularly mean you have to work there too. Especially if you have done some research, and found out it's difficult for foreigners to work in that field. I agree with Rainbow, write down all the pros and cons of studying the field in your home country versus the foreign country. Then, do another table when comparing the job opportunities.
You have to make the decision for yourself. Make a decision and don't doubt yourself afterwards. Follow your heart and make sure you won't regret it later on~
