how are you really feeling physically and mentally? what’s taking up your headspace?

Hi, I am feeling very tired and burnt out. I am worried about my upgoing exams which are in a row, so it's going to be hard to do well and keep up with each one. I am also trying to do my taxes, sublet my apartment, and find someone to pet sit by cat for the summer. I got two offers. One person is willing to stay in my room and watch my cat, but they have a dog, and my cat might not like him. Another person has two pets which is way too much, so I would need to find someone else to take my cat. I just want to make sure my cat is ok for the summer and has a place to be.

what are your goals for this upcoming week?

My goal is to catch up on cardiology as much as I can while also doing as best I can on the clinical pharmacology exam on Friday.

what are you grateful for this week?

I met with some alumni from my undergrad, and they were really nice. Also grateful for a peer support group finally starting at my school.

Hey, dream! Thanks so much for checking in with us this week <3

Sorry to hear that you have been feeling burnt out and stressed a lot this week. You have much going on with your upcoming exams and all the tasks you have been doing. I can totaly understand the burt out and anxiety feelings.

With your upcoming tests working towards feeling prepared might help reduce your stress. what has worked for me is to have a plan and visually see how im gonna make it through the chaois of exams. usally i sart by evaluating when I have what exams and topics I must study for each. Then plan out each day what needs to be reviewed. I know exams can be stressful, especially when they are important, but you will try your best, which is important. It's hard to recover and keep your energy and focus when you have so many in a row. You may want to try to carve out some time that you are doing something that relaxs you and ensure you are eating, sleeping, and all those things. The small details can matter. You got this. I believe in you, and before you know it, this round of exams will be over, and so will the stress and worry about them.

Your cat sounds important to you. It sounds stressful having to find someone that is going to work in time for the summer and making sure all the details work out. I'm sorry these two offers didn't pan out; I hope that you find someone that fits and works well for both you and your cat (:

I wish you the best of luck on your exams and catching up on your cardiology and your clinical pharmacology exam (sounds pretty cool and fancy)

How are you feeling physically and mentally?

Mentally, it’s been a rollercoaster the past couple of weeks and that’s continuing into this week. One moment, I’m feeling good and the next, I’m burnt out. I’m trying to reenroll to my bachelors program after getting unenrolled for a mental health leave (yes this university unenrolls people for that and you have to reapply and pay to get back in even though I have paperwork galore that can justify my leave; it’s annoying). Between that and trying to get through an online class plus working on summer plans and trying to figure out a disability and mental health treatment plan, it’s a lot.

Goals for the upcoming week?

Get through the rollercoaster by using my coping skills and learning patience. The application for reenrollment was submitted over the weekend and the disability/ mental health plan are in the works and for the most part out of my control right now (the team needs to get on the same page with each other and I can’t keep trying to be responsible for that).

Grateful for?

The suggestion of my therapist last week to join this community. Even though I haven’t had the energy to fully engage, I’m still finding the moments when I can to get the use out of it.

Hey, sunny! Thanks so much for joining our check-in this week! A warm welcome to the Cups community and our student support corner❤️ it's lovely to meet you ❤️ I hope that you find Cups beneficial and a nice place to be and get support. If you ever need help or have questions, I and everyone are here for you❤️

It sounds draining to be on a constant rollercoaster of emotions and deal with all this seemingly nonsense paperwork and people. That sounds pretty frustrating that you're trying to reenter and being met with so much paperwork, red tape, and difficult people. I hope things get worked out soon, and this is one less thing you must stress about.

I can understand the challenges of online learning and just struggling to get through the work while dealing with mental health; it's just really challenging some days. It certainly should not be your responsibility to get all the people to get on the same page. It seems that those things always take forever, and it seems it should be a much more efficient process. YouYou aree right about trying to focus on the things you can control ratherthann worrying about the things you can not. Easier said than done most of the time, I know, though.

It's awesome that you have come to Cups. I hope that you get to meet some wonderful people and helpful resources. It's okay to be lacking the energy, you are doing your best, and that's excellent ❤️ here for you <3
