Psych Grad School Applications
Hi y'all!
I was wondering if there are some people here who are applying to PhD or PsyD programs.
Could you share one advice that helped you on this journey?
@CollectingMemories
Being clear on your “why” is quite important I feel, to push through and self-motivate throughout the journey, which understandably has its ups and downs.
Good wishes to you and everyone applying or enrolled already. 💛

Would you say it's worth it at the end? Just curious - thank you for sharing.

Always depends on our expectations and goals out of something. And it’s relative for everyone, so i feel it’s best for each of us to assess based on our previous records, current circumstances and future goals.
If someone has the time and resources (financial, mental, physical etc) and willingness to invest in it, and believes they’d be able to extract something out of the process, be it learning, more experience, research- opportunities, progressing in their career, or any personal/ professional benefit, it’s worth it.

+ there are some places where you cannot become therapist without going to grad school, either Master's or PhD, depending on country and state. So, if your plan is to be a therapist, then there are not a lot of choices, going grad school is mandatory.
Do you know what states require no masters to become a therapist ?
