In need of motivation, positivity
Hey all!
I am in my last year of university and I am doing my thesis. The way I am.. I get demotivated very easily. While part of me really wants to go for it, I just get the feeling I won't get there anyway. I actually always got good grades, but somehow I see so many reasons why it's even no use to try. I am trying to stay positive, to stay motivated, but it's really hard for me... I get demotivated.. I feel like I won't succeed anyhow, so I get lazy, I dream off.. How do I stay focused? Stay motivated?![]()
I would really appreciate all tips!!!
Try and show yourself patience and loving kindness you would show someone else. Maybe it is as simple as scheduling in some 'down time' for yourself.
Do you get an opportunity to read for pleasure? I used to keep a little notebook where I'd write down quote that I liked. I'll leave you with this one from an author Haruki Murakami.
?And once the storm is over, you won?t remember how you made it through, how you managed to survive. You won?t even be sure, whether the storm is really over. But one thing is certain. When you come out of the storm, you won?t be the same person who walked in. That?s what this storm?s all about.?
Motivation is a hard thing to grasp.
What has motivated you before? Is it envisioning the end-goal? Making a list and crossing things off? Having a reward at the end of completion of a goal? Peer support? Figuring out how exactly this project will help your future?
Once you know what works best for you, you can plan rewards and your motivation will increase! Most of all though, don't forget self-care. Burn-out looks a lot like decreased motivation. If you take care of yourself and have a healthy body and mind, things come so much more naturally and easily. Hope this helped!
thank you! i'll tried to envision and mind set again :D those things i forgotten after i entered the college yrs..... i'm in my last yr of being a college hopefully i'm looking forward to graduate ^_^ pray for us!!!! hope we finish and pass the thesis <3

Hello all, if anyone wants to talk about education I'm free for most of the day,
I totally relate to what u are going thru.
I had the day feeling when I was doing my dissertation and there were days I wanted to just run away. At that time i would drop it and go for a walk or something. Once back i would be rejuvenated and would get back to work with renewed vigor and interest.
So my tip is dont work on it endlessly....take breaks and you will find yourself being more productive.
All the best......
* same feeling.....
I believe all of us here would be the first one to show a genuine act of kindness to even a stranger that was suffering in this situation. It is ironic that we are unable to show this kindness a patience to ourselves. I am as guilty of this as anyone.
