About imperfect perfection.
Hello everyone.
Hope you all doing great.
I wanted to ask you guys about how you deal with the feeling of being perfect in your study.
Like for the moment I have to write research and it has been a month and I'm still unable to finish it, whenever I write something I end up erasing it because I feel it's not enough and it's good to get the full mark...
So how can I avoid this feeling and make some progress?
It's always like: I want to do something special and good to deserve my grades, but I don't like what I'm doing, even if someone told me it's good I still feel it's not enough at all.
I'll appreciate your answers and advice, thanks for reading this, and have a great day.🌻
Writing a research paper on a specific topic. First, do your research, think of at least three subtopics that you want to discuss. Under each subtopic, find statements/notes that are powerful and have evidence as back up. When you're taking notes, in the beginning, it can be all over the place, doesn't need to be organized based on how you'll write the paper and the order it will be in. Then, once you have enough points, then, look over your notes.. either make marks on points that are similar, then reorganize the notes. Then, you can start writing the paper. When I wrote my research papers, I had a couple of drafts, so, maybe, rather than erasing what you've written, just leave it. Wait until you've finished writing, then, when you go back to read, edit, proofread.. make the changes then.
If you have a tendency to wanting to erase what you've written.. if you're writing this paper by hand.. hide your erasers if you're using a pencil, or hide your white-out, if you're using a pen. Just write, and don't think about whether or not it makes sense or if it's grammatically correct.
Hope this helps~

I can completely relate to this feeling, as it can be super hard to complete work when you place so much pressure on every word that you write! I have found that the best ways to overcome this feeling (specifically when it comes to writing papers) are to write out drafts or to break the paper up into small portions that you complete each day/whatever time frame works best for you. If you write a paragraph per day, for example, this may take some of the pressure off you, as it can be especially daunting when trying to complete big tasks like this in one sitting. Also, this allows you to continue looking over the previous paragraphs you wrote and revise them, so you can write out drafts without placing too much pressure on them, since you know you will go back and edit them each day you return to your paper. I hope this helps, I know it's not an easy feeling to deal with so much academic pressure!
