Imposter Syndrome

I can't focus today, nor can I really absorb or understand anything I am made to read. I have heard that it is called Imposter syndrome when you do well academically but you feel like you didn't earn it. I feel like this a lot. I forget so much, and then I have to perform for the instructors. I get a lot of help with some classes so it feels extra unearned. All of this makes me think I'll forget everything when school is completed. Now when I am put under pressure, I instantly forget everything, and I fear someday it will get me in big trouble. Yet they expect me to learn at such a fast pace! But I am really slow. This is why I need so much help. And now my motivation is so low that I couldn't attempt certain things on my own if I tried.

Ultimately remembering everything in college is trivial.  90 percent of jobs can be learned by training.. This is a secret in society..Businesses still want people with degrees because they are a possible safer bet..🌲

@AsherTree I have heard they train people, although I hear people complain constantly about their jobs so it genuinely scares me as someone who has never had a "real" job. ;-;

I was actually thinking about this but I didn't say anything in the main posts about jobs. Every time I struggle with a subject or forget what I was taught, I tell myself, "I guess I won't get a job in that field."

But maybe by the time I get a job, if I ever do, they will train me like you said. ^-^; I suppose I sometimes just assume the worst.

@BusyBird

It just sounds like you are inexperienced in the labor market.

Holding a position in a job will become second nature to you in probably 4 months.. Whatever happens as long as you give your best things will work out..

You'll generally get so good it will get boring to you.. You'll just end up doing it to receive a paycheck..🌲
