So one of the criteron for the honors society is to paricipate in a group, set goals, and encourage and hold others accountable. I haven't had much luck in the *** group (only got one response and I need at least five) and my online chapter only has times that conflict with other things. I thought perhaps I could meet the requirements here and others could participate.

I know there's a section for goals and accountability in the main forum but this is a little more specialized And, although not every forum member here may be trying to get into an honors society, I'm sure they have tasks they wish to accomplish so this could be an opportunity to help many out.

@Enthenia

hey enthenia! hows it going?

So in order to get honors for you degree you need to work in a group to work on setting goals, encourage others and help hold people accountable. That sounds like a awesome project, however it be quite hard if nobody ever shows up! its really hard when the offered times are not ones that align with our sceduals and we have to go out of our way to make something that works. It would be awesome for you to work on something here. I would love to participate. I definitely see the benefits of holding each other accountable and setting goals. It is something that alot of students here and people and general could use support in. what would your ideas be for it working on cups? I would love to help out in anyway you would need.

@FaithfulZareia I actually got another response on the other site. A week later. I may have clicked on the wrong group link. I couldn't verify it on my work computer because social media sites are disabled (understandably so) and when I did a search on my mobile, it came up with a lot of matches, many with the same logo which just adds to the confusion for people wanting to get the last bit out of the way.

But I happened to look at the form that gets submitted after each meeting and it's pretty vague. I thought it would be a proper meeting setup with minutes and agendas but it's not.

It's extremely informal and I thought it might be helpful to others--the practice of setting goals, making suggestions, and holding people accountable. It's a little like the weekly check-ins that go on here (what went well, what didn't) except it's more geared towards goals.

@Enthenia

Hi, this sounds interesting. Count me in if you need another member in the group.

@IchooseLife79 right now I don't have many participants! My apologies for the late reply. I had to put out minor fires at work (not real ones) and I forgot to check in here.

@IchooseLife79 There's no specific day from what I read on the website I just need to submit three forms for three separate meetings. Actually, I am glad there's no specific timeframe with as crazy as things get here. Generally wekkends work better for me but I have to wear the dog out before I can do other things and that can take some time.

@Enthenia

So do these meetings need to happen in real time such as a joint chat? Or can we use the forum and reply when we have time?

@IchooseLife79 Let me look at the page again. I know the official groups are real time (but always at times I can't do). I've only had two people respond on the social media page and there was over a week between the two responses.

I'm hoping it can be done like this because finding uninterrupted time to do an actual conversation is difficult for me.

@IchooseLife79 I looked at the site again (glad I remembered my password. I have so many to kerp track of) and it doesn't say it has to be done in real time. The main thing is to create goals that are realistic, detailed, measurable and time specific. Like: I want to start training to run a 1kn race in four months. (Just an example.)

So it sounds like something along SMART goalls. Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, Time-Bound.

Do you need a certain amount of goals? Do we have a deadline?

@IchooseLife79 It's exactly like SMART goals.

@IchooseLife79 I think it's just one goal and there's no deadline. I mean, I finished my other tasks late last year.

Well I know it is helpful to have things scheduled or expected. So a start day and a finish day would be good. How long do you have for the assignment? When is it due?

@IchooseLife79 I think in the online chapters they meet once a week for three weeks. The ideal amount of participants is 4-5 but I don't know if we can find more. You're the only one that has responded so far.

I,ve had no more movement on the social media group either.

@Enthenia

Perhaps make a post in the motivation forum for more people?

@IchooseLife79 I could try. There's also that accountability sub-forum I guess it's called.  I just didn't want to overstep mu boundaries. I mean with all the categiries, it seems loke subjects are supposed to be localized (work in the work category, relationships in the relationship category...)

@Enthenia

Maybe make a short post which links back to this one? If you do overstep I'm sure a mod will delete it or move it as needed. ;)  The more info you provide though will be good. Set up some guidelines and such that way people know what they are getting into.

@IchooseLife79 So I put up a post in the goals and accountability forum and there's one interested there. I also have a couple notifications in a language I can't understand but when I click on them, nothing shows up. They just bring me back to these posts...

Cool that another one is interested. Not sure about the other language thing. Weird.
