Need Guidance
Hi, I’m Jhumpa. I recently graduated in Mathematics from the University of Calcutta and I’m currently preparing for government jobs. At the same time, I have a deep passion for teaching, especially nurturing children and supporting their overall development.
I’m particularly interested in Montessori education and early childhood education, but I still have a lot to learn and haven’t had many opportunities to explore this field. My family wants me to choose a financially stable career because they worry that teaching and mentoring may not provide enough financial security.
I want to meet people with similar interests.
Sometimes, I wonder whether I’m being impractical by wanting to follow this passion. I want to build a secure and independent life while also doing something meaningful that I genuinely love. How can I balance financial stability with my dream of becoming an educator?
@jhumpaT I would say to follow your passion and the money will come. Teaching children can be very rewarding indeed. Money is a means to earn a living but it is not everything . I would ask what is money of any value if it does not give us a sense of accomplishment and content?
I truly believe that when we are happy with what we do, we will enjoy the money we earn and learn to build our life with it. Hope this helps.
@jhumpaT
I think that you are asking all of the right questions in looking towards your future. For sure, if you do not like your work, it will become drudgery and slavery. Keep on pondering this.

How can I convince my parents? What step should I take next?
@jhumpaT
Our parents are the people who care about us unconditionally, and want the best for us. It is understandable that they want the best financial opportunity for you. Would it be possible for you to attempt to do as your parents want, but then on the side attempt to develop your passion as well?
