Questions About Optional Conditions in Studying
Hi! I have few questions that I've been wondering about the optional studying conditions of others. I just want to see how you all study in order to try some methods myself. You can choose to respond to a specific one, all of the questions or none at all.
1) Do you eat or drink anything (vitamin bars, chips, tea, coffe, etc.) during study sessions?
1.1) If so, could you specify the item you consume and/or give reccomendations?
2) Do you listen to music during study sessions?
2.1) If so, what type of music do you listen to and how does it affect you? If not, what kind of problems have you faced when (if you've ever tried) you studied with music and how did it affect you? If the answer is dependable, in which contexts do you prefer to or not to listen and how does it affect you?
3) In what type of environment[s] (home, school library, coffee shop, etc.) you study often at and how does it affect you?
4*) If you have any additional info or recommendations for optional study conditions that might not be in the list, it would be awesome to share it.
Thank you kindly for taking your time to read. Answers would genuinely be appreciated🙏
Though I may have made the thread sound too serious, no need to worry or feel anxious responding, it really isn't a huge deal; that's simply how I phrase my sentences for easier and accurate conversations.

Hi there @Kikoguin nice to meet you!
These are good questions to reflect on!
I do like to munch on something while studying haha, it's usually snacky-ish foods like chips, cookies, wafers etc if I'm feeling healthy, then maybe some fruit!
I don't need to listen to music while studying, complete silence is more optimal for me, in a study/ work environment, but sometimes listening to lofi, natural or ambient sounds, flute music etc is soothing too, specially during breaks!
I prefer libraries and a quiet corner of my home, the most!
How about you? What's your take on an optimal study environment for yourself?
Hello @Sunisshiningandsoareyou , nice to meet you too!
Thanks a lot for the reply, it was very helpful :) And sorry for being late🙏
This is very long and I was planning on highlighting only the main answer but there's an issue about editing text so I don't mind if you skip anything.
About my own optimal study environment:
I do like to drink beverages when I'm studying, usually coffe. Though I can't say I'm a huge fan of eating chips while doing so because I hate crumbs spilling all over, I do once in a while eat some nuts, crackers or something sweet to help me stay in touch with reality.
I used to enjoy listening to music (even upbeat types like rock) while studying in the previous years, however, my tolerance to stimuli has decreased greatly so I'm trying new options. I've heard that listening to Lo-Fi and classical music can help while studying, as someone who tends to get too caught up while listening to classical music, I'm planning on trying listening Lo-Fi more often in the upcoming semester. I never really enjoyed the type but I acknowledge that it can be helpful so I want to give it a shot (maybe find some pieces that I do like after all!). I don't listen during breaks because I kinda get addicted to listening music, I get too caught up I give up on everything else. For me, Digital Daggers' songs usually help a lot at studying for math though.
I study best at coffee shops nearby my school, though I study most often at home due to my life conditions. I would've loved a library to go but there's no functional one on my way or close to home. I love studying in different yet familiar environments and I actually struggle most while studying in my home. I'm planning on going to the cafes nearby to study more often in the upcoming semester. Oh and this is definitely a recommendation if you live near sea and don't get seasick easily: Studying on boat. I live in a bridge city and boat rides between two sides aren't uncommon, and they're close to the underground subway, so you can just get on one and go back and forth. As someone with a deep appreciation for the sea, it worked very well for me, when I got distracted I'd watch the waves, then get back to studying. They also sell some snacks in the boats so I suggest you give it a go. Although I didn't have the chance to do it often so I cannot guarantee how it'll result in the long-term.
So, this is how it works for me!
Sorry that it's too long though, and good timezone!
